We had a 2 day swim meet this weekend and my daughter broke both records in the events she swam. She broke the 9 - 10 yr. old 25 yard butterfly record with a 13.27 (the old record was set last year 14.10)!! In the 40 years this league has been competing, no 9 - 10 year old boy or girl has gotten under a 14! Then she swam the 50 yard freestyle and broke that record with a 29.24 (the old record, which was 29.50, was set 30 years ago!!!). Im just so excited, I had to share it with everyone :cool1::cool1::cool1:

That is super cool! I don't imagine you all call her a dolphin too much do you? ;)
That is great and something rare, no matter what happens in her life, she has broken 2 records. :)

I was a super competitive swimmer for 12 years, and I must say those are really good times for a 9-10! Esp the 50 free. If she keeps with it, I have no doubt she will be great. Congrats to her, and to you!

WOOHOO! Way to go! That's fantastic!:cheer2:

Wow! Way to go :yay::yay::yay::yay: I hope she'll keep swimming. DD has two friends who started swimming with home leagues and now swim competitively in high school. One will be going to college on a diving scholarship and the other will go on a swimming scholarship. Tell your daughter there's money to be made in the water!

Awesome! How exciting for her!

My son broke his HS's hurdles record that had been in place since the 70's!! It was THE ONLY meet I forgot the stinking camera. Argh!

But he was on cloud nine for awhile, just like I'm sure your daughter is! Good for her! Congrats!

Congrats! My dd is a swimmer, too. I see you're from RI. We were in Warwick for a meet in June.

Congratulations to your daughter!:thumbsup2:woohoo::yay::cheer2:

Swimming was the only sport I ever enjoyed when I was growing up, and the only one I ever competed in. I could swim in a pool every single day and never get tired of it.:)

If your daughter likes competing, I hope she sticks with it. She has a future in the water!

That's terrific. :thumbsup2 I love hearing about childrens' successes in sports.
