First i know it sounds horrid but he was 86.
He always told me to enjoy life and myself and my husband travelled all over the globe with him and he loved it !!
He died 2 days before the 2019 meal plan came in April 2018.
I booked it waiting over an hour to do so.
I have saved everything I can but Disney upset everything with Starwarsland. Not because I don't like it but because it will be really busy.

I've book ed restaurants and fast passes and paid for extra hours , even though I couldn't afford it.
I hope it won't be too mad because I want to enjoy it and also take time to remember my Dad.
I'm not proud of what I spent and husband doesn't understand it, but,
He will be with me and I hope enjoying it.

Sorry for the rant 😕

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s very painful to lose a parent, no matter the age.

I lost my MIL in February. We had a trip to Arizona planned to visit her because we knew she was declining. Since we were already going to be out west, we extended our trip by 6 more days in California. Unfortunately, she passed before our trip. My DH spent a week in AZ saying, “Goodbye.” She died while he was in the air on his way home to JFK.

We had a conundrum. Should we cancel our trip? We had travel insurance, so we could easily do it. We began to think about what MIL would do. She was also a world traveler. She took every child and grandchild somewhere amazing. She took us to Sweden and England when we were newlyweds. We realized that she would tell us to spend the money and travel.

So, in her honor, we did. We visited family in Arizona that we rarely see for a few days, then drove to California. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. We explored Huntington and Seal Beaches, and had a blast in Disneyland. We had an amazing family reunion and vacation.

Looking back, we don’t regret one penny spent on our trip.

Seize the day!

First, I am so sorry for your loss.

Second, I wouldn't stress that much about SWGE opening. You can work around that. We go during busy times every year and as long as you go with the expectation there will be crowds, it isn't that bad.

Now here comes the hard part ... if it is really stressing your finances, causing problems with your spouse then maybe you should think through that. Dad wouldn't want you to bankrupt yourself either.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, I was just feeling a little low on Sunday and ranted a little.
