I am so excited. I talked to one of my nutty over Disney co-workers.

His wife just retired as a bus driver for the school system. He has about two years to go before he can retire from our maintenance dept.

She want to visit her childhood friend in FL a few weeks ago, who just happens to be one of the "Mickeys." They headed over to the World for the day and she filled out an application and they hired her! They said her CDL license with spotless driving record was like gold!

She is going to live down there through the winter and come back here for the summer, until her husband can move down there as well.

She will actually be starting around the week I get down there - I am so excited!

:thumbsup2 I hope it works out for her!

I work in a hospital and few years ago xrayed a lady who recently moved back to the area after living in FL. Her dream was to move to FL and work for Disney. She did her few days of orientation then 1st job was in stroller rentals at MK during Easter week. She said it was so crazy busy and parents were so mean to her and could only stand 3 days then quit. Eventually moved back to NE where all their family lives.

It's a shame people can be mean over something simple as a stroller, but let's not even go there.

So true that people who love a place when they visit may not feel the same when they work there.

But as far as working for a bus system and then going to another sounds good. But I bet the typical guest is more loud, whiny and full of dumb quetions than any school kid.

Well good luck to your friend, she'll need it. If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't. Disney over thinks certain things and under thinks others. And it's true with the DTS system. I enjoy doing what I'm doing but it took me at least a year to get to that point. And I had a huge advantage.

No, the guests as a rule are great. The best part of my role is getting the big smiles from the little kids when I say "Good Morning" to them as they board the bus! :goodvibes

And most cooperate about folding strollers and moving back; I just have to have the patience to ask them twice.:)
