My Co-Worker didnt syay in a Disney Resort but still got extra magic hours...

This attitude is becoming more and more prevalent unfortunately. Several weeks ago I had a coworker, who asked me how much a trip to WDW costs, as he was thinking about taking his son down there next fall. When I tried to explain that it depended on the time of year and which resort he stayed at, he tried to press me for an exact price. I told him I didn't really know, but to look at the WDW site, decide when he wanted to go and where he wanted to stay and I'd see what discounts Imight be able to find for his time frame, but since I usually used an AP discount for a room discount and the TiW card for my meals, I didn't really know what the full cost of a trip without an AP would run. He then got the brilliant idea that I could give them my AP and they could use if for a room discount and his wife's park ticket. When I immediately refused he got mad and said he didn't see what it would hurt since I wouldn't be using it that week and it'd save them alot of money. Uh, how about because that would simply be wrong, plus when the wife got caught with my ticket, WDW would not only go back and charge them full price for their room, but they'd also take up my annual pass. He actually got really mad and said he couldn't believe I could be that prudish and selfish that I wouldn't let them use my AP to save them money. He said it wouldn't hurt anything and he was sure lots of people did it. He just couldn't see anything wrong with it.

Don't they use the bio system for AP's just like a normal room key or one day ticket?

What it is is a form of theft and not the type of person I'd want working for me. Her/his employers should be wary. What else are they capable of?

Know this will probably make some people mad and it actually shocked me because I thought Disney had things in place to prevent this from happening. My co-worker, her children and extended family went to WDW the week after 4th of July. They were going for a wedding in Apopka and decided to spend 6 days at Disney. My co-worker and some of her family stayed in a condo in Kissimmee while her brother, sister-in-law & their kids stayed on property at a value resort. Before she left I told her about using FP as much as possible bc of the crowds and bc they were staying off property so they wouldn't have access to EMH. Well, when she got back to work she happily told me that despite them staying off property they still did most of the EMH hours at the parks. She said her Brother and sister in law told the resort they lost room keys and got new ones issued& gave her & her kids their KTTK cards. She said they were able to show them and do all the EMH without a problem. This kind of bothers me thinking about how I pay to stay on site but it really doesn't matter. It makes me wonder how many people enjoy that perk when I'm there that haven't paid for it.

You can pass along to the co worker..they are all thief's and cheats..........wonderful way to bring up kids!

Morally not something to be proud of.

If the co worker was willing to do this at WDW.....I wonder if she stealing form work as well!

I so wish they would bring back the wrist bands also....it was much easier then...if you have a wrist band, then you ride...if not...take a walk !!!

I think the wristband system was a good one. Give a wristband to those with a resort card that stay for EMH.

It used to be they would scan your card before giving you the wristband. This would have probably prevented this "scheme". I guess they had to cutback on the cost of wristbands....

The original use of the finger-scan technology at WDW
was specifically for AP's, so yes.

i went one time to early morning EMH right at opening and with no room key and they didnt even ask to see one. put my ticket in and i was in.

Couple things I noticed. We always do morning EMH's. This year we bought Y.E.S. tickets so we had tickets separate from room keys.

We did Epcot one morning and the CM at least motioned to make sure we had our room keys which was nice.

However we went to Hollywood Studios and no one even mentioned them. And the place right before you go through the turnstiles was absolutely packed. It was busier than it was 3 days prior when we were there at normal 9AM opening with no EMH's. They people before us had regular tickets, not room keys. And we had regular tickets not room keys. And no CM asked any of us if we were on site. There is absolutely no way everyone there was a resort guest.

I would say if you are going to tout that as a benefit then you should actually have a better way of policing it.

Aubiree's coworker is a jerk. None of my coworkers would even think of asking me to GIVE them my annual pass so they could get in free on my dime, not to mention get mad if I refused. Yes, if they caught someone using the annual other than the person it's assigned to, the annual is confiscated.

There is the fact that you can actually add people to your resort reservation after you arrive, so long as you don't exceed room capacity, and get them keys. The downside to that is that on a regular resort reservation, if they're adults and you now have more than two adults registered in the room, the extra adult charge kicks in.

OP I would call HR immediately and also put a call into CPS, I mean how dare they ride the Tea Cups when they are not paying guests…err…paying guest staying onsite visiting the designated park at the designated time.

Seriously? Does it really matter? Would I go out of my way to get new tickets – probably not, but in the grand scheme of things does it really matter?

It matters because cheating the system raises the costs for honest people. And it matters because people who lie and cheat strangers often start lying and cheating with people they know. Justifying the one is only a few steps from justifying the other.
