My child is a pin-trading maniac -- where can I find cheap pins?

Please help. I allowed my shy 8-year-old daughter to start pin trading in the hopes of bringing her out of her shell a little. Well...I fear I've created a monster. I had good luck before our last trip buying pins at the Disney Store (CHEAP)!!

I'm planning a surprise trip as her Christmas present this year (January 5-10) and pins would be the ultimate stocking stuffer. It appears the Disney Store doesn't carry pins anymore. I know about cheappins.com and ebay.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks a bunch!!

The only place that I know of to buy discounted pins is at the Disney Outlet stores. You can call the stores, either the Character Premier in the Belz outlets or at the Florida Premier Outlet and ask if they will do a phone order for you.
Not sure if they will but it won't hurt to try. Unless someone from the boards is going down soon and might be able to pick some pins up for you. I won't be at the parks till December 27th so I won't be much help. Peggie

You really don't need to look much further than Cheappins.com. Their service is excellent, and their grab bags would be perfect for your daughter. Good luck!

There is a company called "AMS Character Warehouse" which seems to buy very large lots of Disneyland closeout merchandise (including pins). They will set up a store in a locality for about five weeks and then vanish. They will discount everything between 20% and 90%. This year, at least in the Washington area, they have been at Arundel Mills Mall in Anapolis (MD), Pan Am Center in Fairfax (VA), and Prime Outlets in Hagerstown (MD). ouu might try to track them down and find out when, if ever, they will get close to you and where.

I have bought pins off ebay. Somehow people get a hold of huge quantities of old flex pins and other giveaway pins and sell them on ebay for cheap. I have bought bags of Disney pins for as little as .75 to 1.00 each. Watch out for the shipping though. Some sellers try to make up shortfalls on the selling price by charging outrageous shipping charges. When you are trading with the CMs it doesn't matter what pin you trade as long as its Disney and they don't already have it. That's why I bought my DD the cheap pins to trade. Good luck!!
