OK...He had surgery today b/c he's been sick and puking up Q-tips...no better, so off to surgery...they found over 20 pieces of q-tips in him and string. And I thought he was the good one of the two! He must have been stashing them away for a month!

I feel your pain!!! My cat will search out string, plants, fuzz, feathers (down from my couch) and my pony-tail holders and eat them only to puke them back up 5-15 minutes later. He eats the pony-tail holders to keep our other cat from playing with them. He also loves to eat plastic- like plastic store bags. I swear he knows this will make him puke and wake us up in the middle of the night when he wants food. Now mind you I complete a sweep of the house each night to make sure there is nothing out that he can get into.

Wow, and I thought my cat was the only one who did that! He's actually not too bad anymore; the main time he really starts chewing on them are when he wants my attention and hasn't been able to get it by meowing, etc. (like when I'm on the phone). He'll find a bag right near me, look to make sure I'm watching, and start chowing down. Little manipulator! ;)

One of my cats loves to eat that weird gummy stuff that's in magazines to hold in perfume samples or heavier card stock. She really likes to sniff it, then lick at it and then she tries to gobble it up!

Used to have a cat that loved Tilex. We would clean the bathroom and if he could smell it on our hands he would attack our hands. Thought that was pretty weird.

Do you have my cats sibling? Figaro loves Q-tips, I found out about the string thing when he ate the drawsting for an old pair of pj's. We have now moved the q tips into a drawer and make sure he has no strings, because I was afraid of surgery possibilities. Hope your little guy heals fast and changes his snacking habbits.

I hope the OP's kitty will be ok! My shorthair cat loves to eat rubber bands...I have no idea why.
