My carry on is 22x14.2x9.5". Delta's site says it needs to be 22x14x9"....do you think it would be flagged?

I was wondering if anyone has some experience with Delta and their bag being a smidge over their posted size restrictions?

It's a hardside spinner if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

Depends on the plane and crew working the plane(and the gate) that day. If the overhead literally wont close(smaller planes) then you can guaranteed it will be pulled. Otherwise your fate is left up to the whim and mercy of the gate crew and flight attendants.

I've never had an issue on Delta. Unless it's very clearly way over size (like a full size piece of luggage). But I've also seen people with bags that are definitely over and no has bothered them. And it will probably depend on if it's a very full flight or not.

I think you will be ok too - you could possibly be asked to check it at the gate - or you may not - especially with less people on planes these days.
Hardside does make a difference. Once I stuff my softside luggage to the max and unzip the extra space - its way bigger than its original dimensions and therefore over the limit for sure! :rotfl:

If it fits you likely are good. They normally won't care and with limited capacity I doubt they will care at all.

I would just be prepared for them to grab it at the gate and put it under the plane. If they do that then it will be hit or miss if they give it back to you at the gate or at bag pick up depending on the airport and plane type you are on.

Did you measure the bag or is that what is listed?
Most manufacturers use the standard measurements because most airlines have the same guidelines. The size comes from the size of the luggage overhead compartment.
I'm sure you will be fine and for some reason if it was not you would just gate check it.

It will be fine and no one is going to notice that size difference. My carry on is a bit lager than that and I e had no issues on any of the major airlines. Just remember to put it in the overhead with the handle in and wheels facing out.
