It would normally not bother me, but having recently read Disney After Dark to my DD, those dolls creep me out as well. No more IASW for me unless I can bring high precision weaponry.

On the family nagging point. Send it again!

I haven't read those books because I have automatonophobia and I know they'd freak me out even more, but I have played Epic Mickey and that definitely creeped me out!

dose he just not like ride? Took my DBF To disneyland a few years back and he rode small world but then it was chirstmas time and jeggle bells were playing. He told that small wold was his grandmother's favorite car trip song.

my husband and bil won't ride this ride. They stand outside or go get fast passes while we're on it. My husband went on it once when he was 13 and that was enough for him.

It's actualy my husband's favorite ride!
I would never have tought, but he did it twice in a row when in DLP.

We can't wait to bring the kids. My only concern is my DD4 bladder. She has to pee, like, every half hours! I'm gonna make sure she pees before the ride.

Cause it's one heck of a long ride!

I didn't read the whole thread so maybe this has been mentioned, but in the Unofficial Guide to WDW some years ago a WDW visitor commented that those riding this attraction should be provided with a basket of softballs to throw at the dolls. FWIW, I don't ride this anymore when the grandkids are with us at WDW.

Last summer I read about Mary Blair who is credited with much of the art design portion of the ride. Here is a link describing her contributions. She is also credited with part of the Gran Fiesta Tour in Mexico at Epcot, along with the amazing, gigantic mural in the Contemporary. Her art design is also seen in the movies Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.

I rode IASW many times last summer just to take a fresh look at the art. I had a great time. As for Ridley Pearsons book, that made the ride even more interesting for me. Because of his book, I started looking for the suns in each "room".

Also to keep us on our toes, we had a contest to see who could identify any non-working pieces. And to see if we could identify all the countries. The ride is nice and cool in the hot summer, and the line moves quickly.

Finally, I like to read all the ways to say goodbye at the end of the ride.

I don't care if each doll is hand-painted by Picasso and each room designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.....IASW is still brutal. I'd rather stand in a line that goes nowhere than actually board the boat.

I rode it once because Mrs. Tex said that I had to. All I can say is that it's a good thing I love my wife, because I'd want revenge against anybody else who did that to me.

All you'd need to do to turn the ride into a blockbuster horror movie is to play the music just slightly out of tune, and play slow motion closeups of some of the animatronics.
