My best splurge at a Disney gift shop was when I bought a _________ at ____________.

Will definitely be buying the Wishes CD when we go!! And if I can find them, those DVDs.

My biggest splurge was after my Graduation I bought like 20 charms for my new charm bracelet that I got. Now I only wear about 10 on it but I figure I'll switch them out like pins!

I collect villains figures and many years ago I found a Ron Lee one of the Hag in the collectibles shop (now closed :sad1:) on Main Street. I paid (for me at the time) way too much for it, but it is still one of my favorite pieces.

On my solo trip in 2006, I bought a pin for every attraction I visited, plus holiday pins from all four parks. I shudder to think what I spent, but I love them! I bought a tall Sorcerer's Mickey hat to pin them on and that's how I display them. :goodvibes

Gosh, come to think of it, I don't think I've bought myself ANYTHING at a gift shop while at WDW.

My kids always get something, as we give them each a set amount to spend on a souvenir(s). My wife has found some nice things also. I just get enjoyment out of seeing them happy. I've almost bought a nice coffee mug a time or two, but they just weren't quite right.

I guess I'm just picky or cheap. (or both) :)::yes::

I bought a Disney Princess Wedding Cake snowglobe on our honeymoon to WDW in 2005. It was around $75, which was a huge expense for us back then and the only souvenir that we bought.

It still sits proudly in our livingroom.

3 lighted shadow boxes at DHS Art of Animation. Castle, Cinderella & the coach, Bambi. I think it was close to $300 total, I had them shipped home. They are now in my loft on shelves where I have my TV.

I bought a $50 hooded cardigan at Wilderness Lodge. That was a splurge for me. It is so comfortable, though! And it has navy blue Mickey heads on it, so it makes me happy.

In May 2013 I bought a Dooney & Bourke handbag for $200 at Uptown Jewelers on Main Street. I was very happy. Had great placement of Mickey Mouse and the castle.

On a January trip 7 or 8 years ago, the night we were at EPCOT the temperature dropped from the 70s to the 40s after the sun went down. It was a three-generation, ladies-only, once in a lifetime trip (me, mom, & grandma), and my grandmother really wanted to stay for IlluminNations because she loves fireworks. We were totally unprepared for the temp change, so she had to buy an $80 sweatshirt from the store at the America Pavilion, and I bought a Helly Hansen winter hat from Norway. That thing cost a small fortune, but it was an ear-saver!

My best splurge was the name art I bought at the little stand across from Matterhorn in DL in 2010. I had my name Trish done in Halloween characters. I told him I wanted a witch for the first letter and told him to go crazy on the rest of it. He did an amazing job, and it's one of my fav souvineers from my trip. At a cost of $56, it was well worth it. The artist actually thanked me for allowing him to use his creativity, and using his imagination on the piece, and he made it into something I love.

Dooney and Bourke wristlet from Mouse Gears :) I use it every day!

As for when someone splurged on me, Dad bought me a magic lamp Chamilia charm from Uptown Jewelers. I didn't want to buy it because I wasn't sure if it would fit on my Pandora bracelet, but I loved it so much that he bought it for me anyway and said we'd find a way to return it if it didn't fit. It fit perfectly and it's my favorite charm on the bracelet!

A beautiful Hawaiian blouse at the upstairs giftshop at the Poly.....saw it one year, forgot to go back and get it, found it again this year...love it.

My 40th Anniversary D&B at Uptown Jewelers. It wasn't the first Disney Dooney that I purchased but it's by far my favorite. It's incredible how many people stop me in the "real world" to comment on it and ask where I bought it.

I bought my first Dooney and Burke last fall from a shop on Main St. It's the black Disney charms one and I use it everyday! It lets me carry a little Disney magic everywhere.

My best slurge at a Disney gift shop was when I bought a Dooney & Burke Disney World Retro Medium sized bag at World of Disney.

I use it every day and love it.

In January I bought myself a wallet from DHS its the I love nerds pattern, I have gotten so many compliments

Biggest splurge numbered painted canvas print of Bella Notte : Lady and The Tramp Art of Disney (?) EPCOT

OH and one more if anyone remembers the ORIGINAL Figment ride when you were let off and then made your way out everyone always took a picture with the Giant stuffed Figment yes I asked and yes I bought one (early 1990's) about $300 wanted it to go with us but the box wouldn't fit in the back of the station wagon ripped that box open rearranged everything MIL telling me I was nuts swore I would leave her in FL if I had to, but Figment was coming home with ME

Got a lot of strange looks as he lay nose up in the back returning to NY
Still have him in corner of bedroom...hindsight BIGGEST dust collector I ever owned vaccuum him all the time :lmao:

Oh my God! I'd like to see a picture of giant Figment.

This thread is making me feel like it's essential I get a Disney D&B purse. Potential self-bought Christmas present splurge, I think!

We bought a framed family crest of our name in England (EPCOT).
DH is from England - loves the history of his family.:)
