a daddy.:( I'm taking him in the morning to get fixed. I know I'm doing the right thing for him, but it still makes me sad.:( He's been mad at me tonight. He isn't allowed food after 6 and you'd think he was going to waste away without food for one night.

That's not sad at all! Congratulations!!!

What a CUTIE, Shannon!

Yeah, they get a little ticked off at you for messing with their... stuff, but they forget they had it QUICKLY!! LOL!!

The way I avoid the "food stare" is my never giving eye contact! It can break your heart!

Thanks Robin. He keeps going to his food dish and making little agitated sounds at me (he's got a temper;)).

Thanks Adamk, DR and Jamsmom. I know it's the right thing, but I know he's going to give me that "What did you let them do to me" look. Plus they won't let me see him until Wednesday.:(

He may not appreciate it, but the rest of the world does. It's the right thing to do. There are way to many orphan pets in this world. Good for you and give your doggy a scratch for me!

What a cute puppy! Poor baby....making him STARVE! :teeth: Just kidding! :teeth: Don't worry, he'll be fine Browneyes. By tomorrow morning he'll have bigger things on his mind than FOOD! ;)

omg, I thought you were talking about Dakota!!!!!!!!!!!

You'll live through it, Mom. Lola was a little put out at us for leaving her there and coming home with a boo-boo :) but your baby will be fine. He may pee in your shoes for a few days, but I am sure he will get over it. ;) :p
CC

Our little guy did just fine, I don't think he ever knew anything different. Sending a sprinkle of pixie dust that your baby get through it just as well. :)

Thanks Janette. How long did it take your baby to recover?

CC, I tell Dakota if he keeps riding his bicycle the way he does, he may not be a daddy one day. Why are boys so rough and tumble? And Boo already got a little even with me. He pee'd on my side of the bed when I told him I wasn't giving him any food.

Mishetta, I'm just glad I don't know puppy language or I'm sure Boo would be in time out.;) If he has his favorite vet there, Misty, he'll let her do anything to him. I'm hoping she'll be there to distract him. She's a great vet. I don't know who's on call tomorrow though.

Thanks AM. Does your SIL's Pom look anything like Boo? Got a pic of her Pom?

Thanks, Disneymoon04.:) The adult in me know I'm doing a good thing, but the mama in me is sad. I'll be ok tomorrow night, I think.;)

Scarlett & Rhett, I think my SO feels the same way. He's making me take my puppy in and he refuses to talk about the surgery.

MJ, I thought your DH was a daddy to Simba and Cali? I'm glad Cali will never be a daddy. That would be hard to explain.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.:)

What a coincidence Shannon!!......I call my 23 yr old son, Boo. Good thing I don't have to tell my Boo that kind of news!;) :o

Don't worry I had to do that with three kitties. They got over being mad at me fairly soon!!

Awww...he is so cute! I just love poms. We have one, also. She just turned 1 year old in July. Her name is Tink.

He should do fine! We had Tink spayed when she was 6 months old; what the vet was concerned about was being a small breed and they started an IV for her surgery. Let us know how he does.

Shannon, I don't think it slowed him down for more than a day, he was really groggy the day he had it done and I was a little worried because he slept all day & night but by the next day he was himself again. He didn't even mess with the stitches much at all.

His little trip to the hospital was what took him a long time to forgive us for :( He still doesn't like adults he doesn't know. Too bad you can't explain to a puppy that if they didn't eat things they shouldn't they wouldn't get so sick. I'm sure it was all our fault for taking him to that awful place.
