Just had to share...my li'l boy graduated HS today. I'm now officially the mother of 2 adults.

This might kill me.

Oh, and it's post 5,000 for me!

Congrats on both. you don't look a post over 2,800. :goodvibes

Congrats on both fronts Mindy. I am a 40 year old mother of a 3 year old I am sure everyone will think I am grandma at graduation. Enjoy!!!

Congrats! I've been upset because my baby is going to middle school. I'm so not ready to have teens much less adults:eek:

Bless you Mindy! (and congrats on the post count! :cool1:)

My mom was celebrating the day i finished A level and was dancing when i left for uni. But she has DVC, i have to love her! :rotfl:

Having 2 adult kids really has its benefits!

That is "alleged" adults....

Wow! I have been sad my baby goes to full day Kindergarten next year....

Congrats to you and your son!

Here I was thinking that 500 posts was a big accomplishment! I have a long way to go!:rotfl:

Congrats! I don't feel so bad anymore...DD14 just "graduated" from middle school on Wednesday and I cried liked a baby - my baby is going to high school this year. Makes me feel old. Blech.

So you're "officially the mother of 2 adults", what are you going to do now?

I get there next year and am already planning the trip.

Boy...those years really fly by, don't they? My DD is signed up to begin her driver's training class in a couple of weeks -- I can't believe she's old enough to drive soon! :faint:

Mindy: What's next for DS?

Next year is my sister's turn for her oldest. She will be a basket case next June. I don't even want to think what she will be like when her baby goes away to college. There is talk of the Carolinas. But I think DSister will settle for the other side of the state.

The driving thing was a big one for us, too...especially after he totaled his Explorer.

He's off to college, but not too far away. He is living on campus, but can drive home in about 1 1/2 hours. So that means I can drive there in 1 1/2 hours, too, and if I get desperate, I just may. Okay, I won't, but letting go is hard. DD is in college, but commuting from home, so I get to see her at least once or twice a week, and I see her car in the yard nearly every day.

It's really a difficult thing...you spend 20 years of your life completely devoted to the upbringing of your children, making all your decisions with their best interests in mind, and although you may have a job and a life other than the kids, it's really all about them...then they're ready to go. What do you do? How do you cope? How do you sleep at night? How do you rearrange your life?

It all comes out all right in the end, I know, and it's a process, but it is a challenge.

Wow, Lisa - you are a much nicer mom than I am! I told DD14 that just because she turns 16 and the state says she's old enough to drive doesn't mean she is going to. DH is a cop and I handle auto insurance claims - poor kid, she's screwed.

We avoided downtown today because of the high school graduations. Heard some great stories about driving down there today. The girl going slow driving waving to everyone, like she was all that and more. I was over at Stephens Field getting a nice tan, coaching softball.

Congratulations! A little sad and a little giddy. It is a day that I look forward to (got another 8 years) occasionally.

Congrats Mindy! party: I can't even imagine graduation, my DD is just turning six next month and it seems like she was just born yesterday. :cloud9:
