I tear up every time I think about it STILL!!
It was our very first trip and on our very last day, what are the odds??
I don't think she fully understood how big of an honor this was till she was actually in the truck/wagon/car thingy driving down Main street waving at all her "fans". When I told her how special this memory was after the parade she cried right along side me as we walked arm and arm back to where the rest of the gang were sitting to watch the parade.
I honestly had no idea what the Dream Team was or what they did till then. I don't think there is any way for me to convey how thankful or blessed I feel. I am simply blown away.
Okay now, how it happened-
As I said before this was our last day at the World, the 7th day. Despite what I was taught growing up, the 7th day is definitely not for resting on.....
We woke up early to make our ADR at Tony's with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy. After we all had final things to finish up like laundry, missed rides, and shopping so we split up in smaller groups so everyone could do their thang. (we were a group of 12 so smaller groups were not really all that small...) Anyhoo, so the group my DD was in consisted of 2 of us Moms and our three youngest DDs. I needed to find the Coke store so I was to catch up with them in Toon town in about half an hour. All the other Dads and teens split to do their thangs. SO off we all went! And as planned I met up with the girls 30 mins later only to be told the special news!! They were on their way to Toon Town when my DF stopped a CM to ask a Q. They all got to talking and laughing and he (Dean) sprang the idea on em and they of course excitedly said YES! From what I gathered talking to Dean and the other CM they are looking for ppl who are happy to be there and not shy. The matching shirts and big smiles are a HUGE draw for them because it shows Disney spirit and ppl wearing Disney attire such as shirts, pins, hats, EARS, etc are more likely to spread the magic. Also I got a tip, when you enter a park do it EARLY and right at rope drop, make sure your WHOLE party is smiling and enthusiastic, DISNEY enthusiastic! Like I said, I didn't even know about the dream team or what they did but that morning most of us skipped in laughing and really enjoying ourselves. I have a feeling we were being scoped out the whole time. Everyone but us 6 girls left the park after breakfast and I went off alone so the group of 5 girls were chosen
My DD-
Cheesey smile ALL the time CHECK!
Wearing her matching Magical Gathering polo CHECK!
Wearing her lanyard chock full of pins CHECK!
Wearing her brand new hot pink fuzzy Minnie Ears CHECK!
Just as happy as a cat in a bird cage because she is in WDW CHECK!
They each got their own set of personalized Mickey Ears (the real deals) and I think one of the Moms got a certificate signifying the experience. My DD was asked to wear her pink fuzzy ears for the parade
Okay so how kewl is that???
psssssst! I met Mickey last week!! This entire trip was a dream come true for me at least.
