My attraction of the day - Carousel of Progress

Ok, so now Im showing my age, but I did see it at the NY Worlds Fair, it is one of my favorite memories of the Worlds Fair, I can still see me and my mom and dad and the rest of my family waiting in line to get into it. It has changed some, updated a bit, but it's pretty close to what it was then.

We are going Aug 30, does anyone know if it will still be open then? Last time we were there it was closed.

My goodness. I had no idea it ever closes. We will miss it over the thanksgiving week???? Is that right?

the info that i gathered was that it opens only seasonally and when high volume crowds are antisipated.

The last day it is scheduled to be open this summer is August 16th. I have been there over President's Weekend an caught it open as well.

Other than a scheduled open season (sometime in June to sometime in August - probably fluxuates a bit from year to year) it is rather hit or miss.

I sure hope it's open at some point during my December trip--I haven't seen it in several trips, and it's a great, classic attraction. :earsgirl:

Our whole family just loves COP, we always used to see it several times on each trip. It is such a shame that they only feel necessary to have it open when the parks are crowded. What about all of us others who want to see it again and never get the chance anymore ? COP is one of the all-time great Disney shows.
LETS LET EVERYONE WATCH THIS TRULY GREAT AMERICAN SHOW !

Does anyone know if there's a COP pin ?? Everytime I go I always look for one.And if not, why not ? [/B]

I have a pin. I traded with someone for it. I am not sure if it is from DL or WDW. It has the father sitting in a chair and the dog at his feet. When I traded I thought it was going tobe a logo pin and was going to try and sell it. When I received it and saw what it was, I changed my mind. this is also one of the rides we never miss if it is open. I know it is my all time favorite.

We saw this, It's a Small World and A Conversation with Mr. Lincoln, I believe at the World's Fair NY 1964. Since I was 2 to 3, it is my earliest recollection of something Disney.... It jars the memories of childhood each time we visit now. Altho Mr. Lincoln is in DL, The Hall of Presidents is close.

Happy WDW trips!!!!
