Things are somewhat improved today.

Evidently Bryan's white blood cell count is coming down!!! WOO HOO!!! It sounds like that if things continue like this, Bryan may be out of ICU within a few days.
I talked to my brother for the first time today since he called to tell me that Bryan was in the ICU on Wednesday night.
He was home spending a little time with Laurie (who is feeling a bit better herself - my mom wonders if Laurie wasn't just missing her mom and dad).
He told me that they know that Byran has some menigitis - they don't know which one - so they are treating for the bacterial one. Also, supposedly he has something else, or a combination of several things. We are still hearing about Kawasaki Disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Lime Disease.
Michael said that Bryan has been seen by just about every specialty in the hospital. Yesterday he was seen by a Hemotologist who was going to test for a malignancy in the blood - "just to rule it out." Sounds like MOST of this is about ruling things out.
A cadiologist is going to evaluate him because of a small abnormality in his heart rythym.
Bryan now has orders that he can eat whatever he wants - but does not seem to have much of an appetite - although he is drinking a lot of applejuice. He was asking for grapes - but the hospital did not have any. GET THAT KID SOME GRAPES!!!

As you can tell, my heart is light tonight. I know that the road ahead will not be an easy one - and it will bumpy. But for today, I am happy to be on a smooth stretch.
I continue to thank you for all of your good thoughts and prayers. I am sure that they all contributed to this happy news!
