I'll bring his birthcertificate, but our DS(2) is 40"! He'll turn 3 a week after our vacation. Do you think I'll get hassled at every entry? Do you think the hassle may warrant buying him a ticket? Do you think he'll like Space Mountain? (okay, just kidding about that one!)

When we were entering MK this spring, one CM asked for his ticket, and I told them he was 2, and she said "okaaay" like she didn't believe me, but she let us right in. I'm wondering if now we'll get stopped.

Any suggestions? :cool1:

If you think it might be a ny kind of problem you could always keep a copy of his birth certificate ?!

I am sure others wil have other suggestions.

we are absolutely bringing copies of the twins birth certificates when we go in october. they had their 2.5 year appt yesterday...my daughter is 26lbs/35.25", her twin is 29lb13oz/36.25", and while I see them both as twins and 2 year olds (which they are) whereever we go lately people seem to think he is a twin, but twin to his older brother! (older brother is 4 and is around 37lbs). I'm floored by it...4 year old has no baby fat and looks like a kid, 2 year old boy twin has a babyish face and to me looks 2. and not even a huge 2 at that, but because he seems so much bigger than his sister I'm concerned people will doubt it.

I say it doesn't hurt to have it along.

I'd laminate that 'ol birth certificate and pin it to his shirt! Seriously, hassle or no, that's a lot of money and you shouldn't have to pay it.

Are you crazy!!!!!! Don't buy a ticket, have you seen ticket prices lately!!!!!

If you're worried about them looking at you like your a lying, thieving crook, just present the birth certificate when asked for their ticket.

They should NOT and rarely do question you once you tell them they are under 3.

My DS in also huge. He turned 3 on June 16th and was a little over 40" tall then. Now, in mid-September, he's 42" tall! ::yes::

We didn't have "too" many problems taking him to DL when he was 2. No one ever questioned his age or asked for his ticket, but we did worry about it, same as you.

However, bringing a copy of his birth certificate is a good idea. We do this anyways when traveling/flying with our kids.

Also, we found it helpful to have DS in his stroller when going through the turnstiles/entry gates, because then a CM wouldn't be able to see how big he really was and question us about his age.

Hope that helps you out. I really wouldn't worry about it too much. Just keep him in his stroller (if you want), and if a CM questions you about his age, then just show him/her your DS birth certificate. I can't imagine a CM questioning a birth certificate.

Oh, and of course...HAVE FUN! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the response! Great idea to put him in the stroller!!

Yes, I'll have his birth certificate, but I was thinking that I could also have a CM just ask him! He's really looking forward to his birthday next month, so I'm sure he'd talk about it! My luck, he'd go all shy (although he usually talks non-stop!).

It is a lot of money to buy him a ticket. That is one of the reasons we've been going before he's 3. I never imagined he'd be so big though! I hate to appear like a scammer. It really bothers me!

Glad to hear there are other big 2 year olds. Around here, I haven't seen anyone bigger!

Don't buy a ticket! Why would you? You have no reason to!

My niece is incredibly tall for her age, also 40", but still talks like a baby. We are taking her passport to the parks to prove her age, I dare say she'll be asked a LOT in the 14 days we're there, so it's better to be safe. She's almost as tall as her 5 year old sister!

our son was also 40 while still 2 ... we weren't asked once by anyone at the parks or restaurants ... think they have seen plenty of these big kids and just not a big deal

yes, I did take him on Thunder Mountain and ... no, my wife hasn't forgotten that !

Hopefully wll be taking my son this January. He will have JUST turned 2 the week before when we think we may go. Nobody will mistake him for 3, BUT I am taking a copy of his birth certificate anyways. Why not?? It folds up small, and I would rather have an easy way to prove anything if questioned. Makes it an easier vacation. :earboy2:

I'm 5'9", and my husband is 6'3", and if we ever have kids, I'm sure they'll be huge. I wore my final adult shoe size of 11 by the time I was 11 years old!

Anyway, I think I would get so mad if a cast member implied I was lying about my child's age! I think I'd have to preventatively whip out the birth certificate every time I got to the gate!

We're the exact opposite. We're both short (well, I'm 4'11" and he's more of a normal adult height) and extremely skinny and just look very young (I'm 20 almost 21 and people think I'm about 15 and he's 23 and still gets carded for cigarettes). Our kids are gonna look so young for a long time. Guess I could sneak them in for free when they're too old! :rotfl: JK!!

Thanks again for the responses. I'm feeling better to hear that there are quite a few big 2 yr olds out there!

I'm definately bringing a copy of his b.c., just incase we get questioned. It sounds like we probably wont. I'll just keep it in my wallet so I don't worry!

biras jim- do you regret taking him on Big Thunder Mtn? Did he like it? (my DH won't like this train of thought! :lmao: )

pouncing pluto- gorgeous pictures!! cute couple!

My son is very large for his age. We took him right before his third bday. Not once did anyone even blink an eye at us. Nobody asked or questioned.

If you are concerned, I agree with everyone else...take a copy of his bc.
