My 1st Cruise report 11/25/2006 (with the Banana Heads) All Done!!!

November 27, 2006

Tomorrow: 11/27/2006 So Much Blue Water- 2nd Day at Sea

Another day at sea!!! Well we headed to Topsider’s for buffet where we ran in Mutt, Steve and family and Kathy and Greg. Wow, today my breakfast was so good. I got the cheese omelet!! It was divine!! After breakfast we walked to Shutters to see what pictures were out. I bought the one of Captain Mickey DS and I. I headed to the pool with DS while DH did his own thing. Of course, it was time to eat again and we decided to eat Pizza and Chicken Nuggets right by the pool. DS was getting alittle cranky so we headed back to the room to get ready for dinner. It was formal night. We waited in line at 4:45pm to get a family picture of us by the Christmas tree. We were in line with DutchMommy and family. We took our picture and then it was off to dinner. Then we walked around the ship and Deck # 4 and we called it a night because DS was getting very sleepy!!!

Tomorrow: Wow 7 months old and in St. Maarten… :thumbsup2

We are docked in beautiful St. Maarten at around 8:30 am. It was in the upper 70’s which was nice. So we ate breakfast and then watched the Disney Magic pull in to dock. We got the diaper bag, stroller and bravely headed off the ship!! We walked around and I think every local person asked me and DH if we wanted an Umbrella for the beach or a Jet Ski. As you are walking it kind of get annoying after awhile. Then we took the Water Taxi to the other side of the Island. We then shopped in the stores and walked around. We needed to take a bottle break and ran into Linda and Bruce and they keep us company while I feed DS. We went into Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy and all the many jewelry stores. And I know everyone is going to be shocked I did not buy a thing!! We headed back to the ship late afternoon and had lunch. Then we walked around the ship to see what was going on. We decided to sit on deck # 4 and watch the people get off and the other ships that were docked next to us. As we were heading to deck # 4 we ran into Chip and Dale. DS pulled their nose and scarfs. It was very cute.
Then it was time to get ready for dinner at Palo’s!! Okay so I was the very upset new mother bringing DS to Flounder’s. Okay the time has come to take DS to Flounder’s. As we were walking there we saw Jan and I sat with her and she told me not to worry and to enjoy my dinner tonight. Well it was time to put DS in Flounder’s and I asked DH to do it because I know that I would start crying. We got our beeper and we were off to Palo’s for a very nice dinner. Palo’s dinner was sooooooooooooo good. I had the Fresh Mozzarella for starters and it was so good. Then it was the main course which was steak which was divine!! I was checking the beeper as I enjoyed my dinner!! Dessert I have the soufflé with chocolate syrup which was a great way to end my great dinner!! I headed downstairs to get DS from Flounder’s and when I walked in he was playing on the mat with the other children. They told me that he was very good and cried a little when DH left. Yet, again I worried for nothing!! Well it was off to walk around because I was so full from dinner and sit on deck 4 and watch the stars and the waves. It was getting late so we called it a night!!!

Lynn, great report so far!

You must've made a great impression on my DD, because everytime she saw you, she'd say, "There's Lynn!!!" It was really cute!

Can't wait to read more!

Today it was up early then usually because we all have to go to the Walt Disney Theater at 6:30am to clear customs for our arrival to St. Thomas. This was the 1st time of our four Disney Cruises we had to do this. You have to bring all the members of your party and your Passports and you get your hand stamp to say that you cleared customs. After that we decided to head up to breakfast at Topsider’s. We docked in St Thomas at about 9 am and it was pouring rain!! Getting off the ship was another project. You had to go to the Movie Theater to get a tender ticket for the tender that were taken over to the island. The Disney Magic was in the middle of the ocean when we docked so we had to take tender boats. Well we got our 3 tickets and sat in the theater for an hour and then we were finally called and then it was another hour on the line to get off the ship. It was still pouring rain and damp out so we figured that with our DS being so little that it was not a good idea to get off the ship in that weather. If it cleared up we were going to try later.
I have to say I was very disappointed in the way they get you off the ship when we were tendered. The sun finally came out and DS was napping and then time to eat so we just figured it was easier to stay on board. DH wanted to try coffee from the Quite Cove Café so he went to get some for me and him and boy was that good coffee. I got a Chocolate and Cookie Iced Latte and it was sooooooo good!! We walked around the ship and took some great scenic pictures of St. Thomas. We decided to get some Pizza and Ice Cream on deck 9. The Pizza is really good on the ship!! After lunch we walked around deck 4 and ran in Kathy and DH from disboards and talked with them for a little bit. It was time to get ready for dinner. The young couple we seat with at dinner got engaged which was very exciting news!! As we were eating the sails were VERY rough. DS was very cranky that night so DH stayed at dinner while headed to the room with DS. It was so rough that I was hitting into the walls as I was walking to our cabin. As I was getting DS settled that when I started to feel sick. DH got back from dinner. I was in on out of the bathroom pretty much the whole night. I finally got comfortable to fall asleep. Wow in my 4 cruises I have never gotten sea sick:sick:  !! It’s not fun:sick: !!

Tomorrow: Wow 1st time Sea Sick Not Fun!!!!

I know what you mean -- about the seasickness. Apparently being a "cruise veteran" doesn't give us immunity.

Your report about St. Thomas and the tendering brings back such fond memories.:sad2: :sad2:

Looking forward to more!!!

Okay my morning was not fun because I was sick pretty much the whole morning. So our day was nothing exciting. DH:love:  was a life saver and got me the sea sick pills from the Clinic and they help ALOT!!! I had alot of Sprite that morning to settle my stomach. I basically spent the day sitting on decking on deck 4. As I was sitting there I saw Wendy and DH and we chatted for alittle bit. I saw Cheri's DD and it was a quick Hello and she was off to have fun in her club!! What a sweet little girl she is :cutie: :cutie: cutie !!
I have to say that by mid-afternoon I was feeling much better!! It was off to lunch!! My favorite Chicken Nuggets and fruit. Then we realxed and headed to dinner. I did not over do it because I did not want to get sick. The Captain came on during dinner and said that we hit 20 foot waves. We walk around the ship after dinner and called it a night.

Tomorrow: Castaway Cay- No I don't want it to end!!

Nnnnnnnnnnnoooooooo! Tell me it's not almost over! And Drew will be walking before you cruise again :sad1: I'm sorry you were sick, Lynn! By the end of the meal, I was the only one left at the table!

Lynn great report.....I know thoes waves were something.

Looking forward to the rest of your report...

Well today is December 1st and we are heading to the beautiful island of Castaway Cay. I love the island but I feel is sad because I know the vacation is going to end tomorrow!! Instead of having breakfast at Topsider’s we decided to eat at Lumiere’s for breakfast. Wow, what a breakfast!! I made up for being sick with a nice egg and bacon omelet and hash browns. While I was eating I ran into Jan and her DH. We exchanged our goodbyes!! She is such a sweet lady and a great adopted grandmother to Drew!! Well we watched the Disney Magic dock at Castaway Cay at about 9am. It was 85 degrees and sunny without rain and clouds!!! Yeah!!! We decided to wait on the line to get off the ship. Of course again I am the nervous new mommy and making sure that DS is covered and has a lot of sunscreen on. It was so cool because we have never seen the island decorated for Christmas. We got off and walked to the family beach which was new for us because we were always at the adult beach. It was nice. Drew played in the sand and wanted to eat it too!! He was having fun!! We decided to walk around because DS was getting a little cranky. I walk and saw Jack Sparrow and the Flying Dutchman. DS finally fall asleep and it was off to get some Bahmana Mamas for me and DH!! Yummy!! We ate lunch at the Family BBQ which was nice. DH and I had Hotdogs and chips and fruit. Okay then I spotted an ice-cream machine and had to get some ice cream too. While we were eating we saw Cheri and Cheri’s DD. After lunch we watched the beach party with Mickey, Max, Goofy and Minnie. I relaxed awhile on the beach trying to get somewhat of a tan before I get home. Well we started back to the ship about 2pm. We stopped at the store on the way to the ship and got a few more things for DS and a shirt for me. After we walked around the ship and wired up on deck 4 where we watched people come back on to the ship. We got ready for dinner. Before dinner we watched the ship leave Castaway Cay!! Then we went to the lounge where we seat with Bruce and Linda. We listened to the two singers. I danced with my son!! He is a very good dancer!! Then we all headed to dinner. After dinner we walked around for the last time and went back to the room early get the luggage out and get organized for our trip home.
The next morning it was up early (before the sun)!! We had breakfast at Topsiders and then we waited in line to get off the Disney Magic and start the journey back to New York. Well DS sleep the whole ride on the DCL bus to the airport which was great!! We got to the airport and check in and everything was going great!! An hour before our flight was suppose to be boarding when we were delayed due to wind gusts in Newark Airport. So we were delayed and hour and 20 minutes in Orlando Airport. We finally board and were on our way home. We finally landed in Newark airport at 5 pm. We had to wait another hour for our luggage to come out and then wait for the car service. We got to my in-laws and got Minnie ( our cat) and our truck and headed home. We finally made it home at 8:30pm. It was a great vacation with DS!! I really enjoyed it and having the Dis-board family made even more fun!!!

Lynn,
That was an awesome report!!
So glad we got to meet and share a little time together. My only regret I had a cold and didnt dare try to hold Drew like I wanted to do. I would of felt terrible if I passed it on to him. Perhaps we will see each other on one of the reunion cruises and then I will get to see him close up!! Denise has already started a thread for an 08 banana head reunion, you should check it out!!
