MVMCP - worth taking a 4,6,8 yr old too??

Hi,
My friend's daughter turns 8 on her 4 night trip to WDW on Dec. 1st. That is one of the Friday nights of the MVMCP. I've never been to it and am helping her plan her trip. I'm sorry I don't have time to read all 123 pages on the MVMCP thread and am hoping someone can shed some "quick" light on that. There will be a 4, 6 and 8 year old as well as 2 parents and a grandma.
It's a lot of extra money, so I'm wondering if kids so young would like it since it is a 7 to midnight event. If the 8 pm parade was packed, they may never make the 10 pm one??? As well, they only have 3 full days to enjoy the parks (Thurs-Sat), so if Friday were a late night ??? how the kids would be the next day?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

I thought MVMCP was much more crowded on the two nights my family went then on the regular admission days. Yes it did put a little damper on the next day as we were all tired.

We did not attend the first year we went in Dec due to a tight budget. We went for the first time last year with daughters then 6 and 8. It was worth the $$$. They loved it. We wil go every year from now on. The atmosphere, shows, cookies!, etc are just wonderful. The only thing I like better is MNSSHP.

As for being tired, I would suggest an early morning the day of the party, lunch, nap, early dinner and then the party. We did not stay until 12 , we left around 11 maybe and we were very satisfied that we had done all we wanted that night. As for being tired the next day, I guess that depends on the kids and how much sleep they need. Mine function on very little sleep at Disney! If there is $$ to do it, I would. But if it is a tight budget I would say to save it for the next trip. Mine would pick the party over any character meal.
