MVMCP - worth it?

DH and I have been to MVMCP and loved it. Here is our problem. . .we are taking the kids this year and will not arrive until that last night - 19th. Our plane does not arrive until 7:30. If we take ME, I doubt we will get to the hotel and into the MK much before 9:00 (provided plane is on time). I did notice we would probably make Wishes and several of the shows. Would this be worth it for three hours? Or would you take the risk?

Thanks for any input!

Given the circumstances, our family would pass.

As much as we love:love: MVMCP, I would not take the risk. Air travel that time of year is subject to so many delays, I would never count on my plane not having a delay. You also need to figure in the amount of people arriving at Disney that day for the Christmas holiday. Taking ME may also have huge lines/delays. I say go and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere all the parks will be offering and save MVMCP for another trip!

I would opt out of MVMCP. I think you're being overly optomistic thinking that you will make it to the MK to enjoy three hours of the event. I think your money could be better spent elsewhere.

Besides, if you need to get into the holiday spirit go over to the Studios for the Osborne Lights. You'll have the snow and music and you won't have to worry about rushing over there!

Unless my family had annual passes I would be reluctant to use a full day's ticket to visit any theme park for just three hours (or less, depending on closing time). And as wonderful as the Christmas party can be, I wouldn't want to spend the money on the chance that we might get there in time for the last three hours. Sounds like a wonderful time to relax, get over the trip, and be ready for the next day's activities.

I LOVE MVMCP but I would pass. I would be a nervous wreck. Will our flight be delayed? Will we get there in time? What about a lost bag? I'm not sure that is how I would want to start out a vacation. Just mho.

MVMCP is a "hard-ticket," which means you have to buy a ticket to the special event...even if you have an AP. They close MK at about 4-5 PM, and only people who have MVMCP wristbands are allowed to stay.

MNSSHP and Pirates and Princesses are also hard tickets, so don't plan on going to MK on those nights unless you are buying a ticket (+/- $45 per person).

I also agree with other posters who think it's a bad idea to risk a bunch of dollars on the efficiency and reliability of the air transport industry. I personally think they do a great job, but there are just SO many things that can go wrong.

Pass.

Thanks everyone!! It's funny, my DH and I just discussed the whole situation just before I checked the boards. We decided exactly as you advised. . .not worth the tension, worry, and possible loss of $$. I am glad you confirmed us.

We do have plans for CP and Osbourne Lights. This way we will have a "new"
event to attend another Christmas.

Maybe another year. . .

I would pass as well, use the extra money for something else special!

Guests with MVMCP tickets are allowed to enter the MK at 4:00 PM. The park closes for everyone else at 7:00 PM.

Can you enter MVMCP with just the event ticket or do you also need to use a park pass?
