MVMCP Trying to decide if it's worth it?

We went last year and we enjoyed it. We had been many years before and took a big break from doing it. If you haven't done it, it is fun. Will it ruin your trip if you don't do absolutely not. One of the years we didn't go we stayed an extra night/day because it was the same price. So sadly it's something you will have to choose but either way you will still have a great trip.

I count it as an experience everyone should try to do at least once. Our kids much prefer MNSSHP, so my wife and I typically do the Christmas party on a short kid-free trip every other year. It doesn't have the same party atmosphere as Halloween, but there is something magical about it in it's own way. We do a lot of slow strolling and people watching. Honestly, walking around with a coffee and taking in all of the decorations, music, and general atmosphere is what we enjoy about it.

Went last year and loved it. Fireworks were outstanding. Parade was cool to watch on main st. Waited 90 mins to get a picture with Scrooge McDuck & Donald and it was worth every minute.

Most rides were walkins, cookies were good.

Id do.it again in a heartbeat!

We went in early December 2016 on a Sunday. My first trip to Disney was when the Polynesian Hotel was $25 per night including admittance to MK. This was our first Christmas event at MK. I have to say it was one of the best day's of my life. I loved it. Sure there were lots of people at the parade but the quick wait time for the rides, the decorations and the feeling of Christmas was amazing. We are going again this year.

I haven't been to MVMCP, but I did MNSSHP in 2014 and LOVED it. Halloween is my favorite holiday so that helped, but the atmosphere was totally different. We had lots of cool character interactions and we never even got in line to meet anyone. I was dressed as Mickey(last minute costume, I know it's unoriginal) and out of nowhere Minnie ran up to me in Fantasyland and hugged me and made kissy noises all over my face! :)

More importantly though, we did this because we knew there would be no lines to get on rides and it was our only night in MK. We've decided to do MVMCP this year because I don't typically get to go for very long trips, our park time is precious. Getting some holiday theming AND low crowds is really what makes these parties worth it to us, again, the day we do MVMCP may be our only opportunity to go to MK this trip. I would argue it is less important for you since you have a longer stay and already have 3 MK days planned. You'll almost certainly get to do everything you want at least once, and you WILL still get to see some Christmas decor.

A change in MK's atmosphere is worth it to us though. We are excited for the parade, the "snow", the fireworks, the cookies and hot cocoa, and maybe some special character photo ops.
