Which night is most crowded? I bought tix for the Dec. 5th party but then I realized its probably the most crowded night due to the local crowds. I read somewhere the max at MK is around 41M and on the parties 20-22M tix are sold. I wonder how crowded that is in terms of park fullness and wait times for rides and shows?

We are counting down to our 1st MVMCP!!!

The parties max out at 20,000 so the crowds are really not that bad. Most rides are a walk-on!

We went to MVMCP in Dec. 2001 and did not have such a great experience, although, most people on these boards do.

We got there a few minutes after opening time & found the park extremely crowded. I don't know if we just continued to run into the crowds but everything was crowded for us. All the lines to get your pictures taken, we got shut out of 2 shows even though we got there early (I guess not early enough), every line for attractions said 10 minutes, however, we waited more like 1/2 hour for everything we tried to do.

After being there about 2 hours, seeing one show, not being able to find the hot chocolate & cookie stands (there were only 2 in the parks) and riding only one attraction (the carousel) we went to complain at City Hall. Believe me, we are major Disney fans (DVC members & AP holders) but didn't find our experience enjoyable. To make a long story short, they eventually refunded our money.

Like I said, for us, it was not a good experience, but I truly believe I am in the minority on this. Most people seem to have great experiences & go back year after year. I'm not sure of how crowded it could be on that particular date, we were there at that time when we did go but that was after 9/11 and Disney had many incentives to get people to "the world".

Not to get long winded, but after our experience I heard that people that are in the park for the day & are staying for MVMCP get a wristband and can remain in the parks until the party starts. Anyone know if this is correct? We didn't do this so if that's the case this could be the reason we ran into so many crowds. Not sure.

Anyway, when you do go I hope you have a lot of fun. :D

Your best bet is to try to get in as many rides as you can before the first parade ends, most are walkons. People with small children are more likely to see the first parade and find their spot as soon as they enter, leaving the rest of the park empty. Get your picture done early. We always head back to Fantasyland first. Shows can be crowded. Get in line for those with limited capacity early - like the Diamond Horseshoe (or whatever it is now).

We went last year on a Tuesday or Thursday and it was the best ever. We did the "dinner package" so were at LTT, had a short wait for the picture but everything else was basically a walk on. We were travelling with a 3 yo but didn't have any problems. We even got a great parade viewing spot right in front of the castle i think about 20 minutes before starting. My niece had a great view b/c they made everyone sit and she loved it - couldn't have been happier and seeing her jump around viewing her favorite characters couldn't be beat. I'd say skip the hot chocolate or at least don't get it in Tomorrowland but you'll have a great time. I'm not sure what it would be on the weekends but during the week was great!!
