Just an FYI for anyone coming to the party, they are sold out in the whole park. A little aggravating that we spend so much for tickets. I wish we could at least order them. I am in the park now for tonight's party

I went to a late party last year as well. Sell outs don't seem to have a replacement stock plan.

Had the same problem trying to buy pins last year.
I agree merchandise should be available for all events, not until they sell out.

Same with 2014 merchandise. Dont sell 2015 merchandise in 2014.

They should let you buy the party merchandise 60 days in advance, 30 days for offsite guests...

:D

1) Then, as a business, what do you do with any unsold time-sensitive merchandise???
2) It is smart, financially, to sellout and then not reorder. *
3) Sure beats tossing it out or selling it at a loss.

* Ever try to order a new car after the model year production was halted at the factory, and none in-stock?

Rusty, in most cases I agree with so many of your posts, but on this one I cannot agree in total with what you say. I agree, if I was Disney I would not want to be stuck with unsold time sensitive merchandise. But with that said we went to MVMCP on Dec. 2nd, 2014 and most of the exclusive items were ALREADY sold out. One week in and gone. Gone like a freight-train, gone like yesterday. Sorry, one week in and all sold out is not acceptable. Disney knows the popularity of this event and has history too look back on for it's ordering. One week into the event the product should not be sold out.

As for your car analogy, Disney and their event exclusive items being sold out so soon would be like that model year production you mentioned being offered for one month and then no longer available to the public.

True...but of course it was closer to ONE MONTH (not one week)...since the first MVMCP on Nov. 7, 2014...and half way over for the party season.

Now of course, I have tickets for the second to the last party...so wish they planned better, but understand that we were taking a risk on the merchandise going so late.

Some of the merchandise for the 2014 Epcot Food & Wine Fest sold out also. I went toward the end of October and the coffee mug and several of the pins were not avaible.

I'm a pretty big Disney defender, but one thing they should be great at by now is merchandizing metrics.

I was always under the impression when it came to the merchandise at parties they allocated their stock over every party.

Maybe they were just sold out at that particular party?

We went for F&W at the beginning of October and the pin trading area were sold out of the Mickey F&W pins but had boxes of the Jessica Rabbit. They said they had been sold out for a week...

We went to the F&W demo building and they had nothing but Mickey F&W pins but had only 3 Jessica Rabbits remaining.

Inventory control seems to be a recurring issue.

Will they be getting more in? Do you know if the MVMCP magic bands are still available?
They did have bands when I was there last week but only certain places. I was told by 3 different places that they would not receive anymore ornaments. I also bought my tickets for the party in October, wish I could have ordered a couple then. That should be a perk to advance ticket sales.

This makes no sense at all to me. A party is a hard ticket event. A separate charge. Why should an onsite guest have an advantage over an offsite guest when they are paying the same for the party ticket ? Your reasoning please ? :confused3

I believe the reasoning was "humor". :)

Pretty sure the PP is poking fun at the FP+ system. ;)
