hi! my boyfriend, best friend, and i are heading to florida right after finals end (literally starting the drive from NY to orlando as soon as our last final ends!) and we are going to be going to MVMCP on the very last day it's going on (dec 19). we're going to be having a "make up" birthday celebration for me and boyfriend's birthday is dec 18, so i want to go somewhere special. it's also best friend's first time ever going to orlando, so it's a triple-special whammy :goodvibes we're paying for everything OOP so i think cinderella's royal table may be a bit much (when i checked menus it was ~$55 per person), so i think i've narrowed it down to 2:

crystal palace and plaza restaurant

which will be better for celebrating 2 birthdays and a good introduction to disney? which will make birthdays more special?

thanks!!!

Personally I like Crystal Palace. It is very Disney, with the characters and the deco, reminds me of Mary Poppins, it is hard to beat IMO.

The food is good as well. There is plenty to choose from, so it covers most people.

Yep I say go there.

great!! thanks so much! i'll make ressies right away :) is there anywhere in particular we should ask to sit?? i remember hiding on the terrace there while waiting for it to be midnight on new year's eve and you had a great view of the castle! i'll see if they can give us a table like that!

I say go with whichever one you can get ressies for! Those days fill up quickly! My vote is for Crystal Palace! :thumbsup2

ahhh i totally didn't realize and now i'm checking on the website and there's no availability :(

any help with that? what should i (or can i) do?

Ditto for Crystal Palace over the Plaza. Hope you can get a ressie there. If not on the first try, just keep calling/checking as much as you can. I've been known to call up to3 times a day, while I'm driving around running errands, etc. (while also checking online numerous times a day)...I've done that for about 45 days before our trip and almost always get the ADRs I want. You could even try a stand-by spot the day you get there, might have to wait, but they might be able to fit you in. We've done this a few times before when our plans changed last minute and have been successful at CP. Good Luck and enjoy MVMCP!

thanks so much! yeah, i'll probably have to keep calling and bugging them lol i made reservations for rainforest cafe in DTD at 2 pm that i'll keep just in case, but if i can get switched to crystal palace i definitely will!! thanks again for all the help!!!

You could also try Chef Mickey's...just take the monorail over to the Contemporary from the Magic Kingdom to eat and then right back to MK again after dinner.

Good Luck!
