MVMCP Crowds - What can I expect?

I'm headed to WDW Sun 11/19 - 11/23. There are 3 MVMCP dates.
1) Is the special ticket event worth the cost?
2) Worth it even if that was the only park you did that day?
3) What are wait times like? Even for rides like Mine Train?

Honestly, it’s hard to answer these questions with accuracy as we don’t know how many tickets will be sold for the 2023 parties.

The best suggestion I can offer is to read the ‘Official 2022 MVMCP’ thread for reviews..

All parties sold out last year so crowds were about the same each day.

‘Is it worth it’ is suggestive. If you want to experience party specific things (parade, stage shows, fireworks, characters in Christmas costumes) than you will probably find it worth it.

If you don’t want those things and are just hoping for lower crowds on rides then no, it probably is not worth it. If lower crowds is your goal then I would suggest going to the MK on a party day during the day as historically crowds are lower those days (until 4pm when party guests can enter) due to the early closing time.

Our family will be in the MK in Aug during MNSSHP. We are not big Halloween people so this party is not a draw for us. If we were going in Nov or Dec we would want to attend MVMCP and probably try to cut back in other areas to make that happen as we love all the party specific extras mentioned above.

Hope this helps a bit.

We enjoy both the Halloween Party and the Christmas Party and we go to both every year (and we're looking forward to testing out the new holiday party this year).

Is it worth it questions are very subjective. We like both parties because we enjoy being immersed in the themed atmosphere of both. Trick or treating in the park is fun. Enjoying the Christmas environment and free treat stations is fun for us. We do not go for shorter ride times. Ride times are shortest at these parties if you go when the first parade is happening. Otherwise, you can easily find 30+ minute waits for popular rides (which can eat up a big chunk of your time). So we forego the first parade, stage shows etc. for rides we want to go on (when people are otherwise occupied). We stay for the late parades at both parties, where crowds are a little less.

So for us it's all about the ambiance and environment. Is it worth it? That's up to you to decide. The Christmas Party is fun and festive. But it's not an empty park by any means. So if you do go, I'd say to decide which is more important to you: the festive shows and entertainment or the rides. Then you can plan what you do (and when) accordingly.

We were at one of the parties in August of last year. As the night went on, the party was not as busy, at the beginning the lines were long. From what I remember, the line for Mine Train ranged from a posted 45 minute wait at the beginning of the party to about 25 minutes at the end. It was probably a little shorter, especially during the last parade.

We visit every few years around holiday time and always enjoy MVMCP. We don’t really go on rides so don’t know about wait times. We usually enjoy the shows, treats, and parade. We are usually already in MK for the day and at 4 pm there are several spots to get the wristband and map.

For me, MVMCP isn’t worth it. Last attended in 2018. Found it uncomfortably crowded, so we chose to do less popular rides and holiday things (Really enjoyed the a capella singers, but had to stand since there was no seating where they were placed in Tomorrowland ). Got shoved around (I need a cane to walk) during the fireworks. Never got treats because the lines were so long. I know other people enjoyed it more than we did, so you may also. On the other hand, we really enjoyed the Boo Bash in 2021 because that was a substitute for MNSSHP, which was a more limited attendance event. Will probably give Jollywood Party at DHS a try this year.

I've done a couple of parties and I thought they were absolutely worth it for what we were able to fit in. We entered the park as early as we were able and stayed to the end, and at each party we had time to watch the fireworks and parade, shop, get treats, and ride all the major rides (some of them multiple times) because virtually everything was a walk on. The only ride we actually had to wait for at each party was mine train, but even that was only about 20 minutes each time. Overall I think that with the number of rides you're able to get on and the added entertainment, a party ticket is actually a better value for the money than a regular park ticket.

Did you do this recently? Thanks.

I'm thinking the lines will be better in our case since it's the Friday before Thanksgiving week. I figure the crowding at the party post-7pm will likely be better than any non-party time around Thanksgiving.

The most recent party I went to was a Halloween party last year.

Attended MNSSHP in 2017 and MVMCP in 2018 and didn’t think either one was worth it. We liked the Halloween party better because my family likes Halloween and the kids liked dressing up for the party. This was pre-covid so I am not sure how the crowd level will be now vs then, but back then the lines were super long for characters and rides. We barley got to do either and decided just to focus on the party snacks and watch the parade which was crazy to even get an ok spot to watch. We would not do it again.
