MVMCP and Wishes FP+ Viewing area

I am sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find an answer.
I know that you cannot FP anything during the MVMCP, but what do they do with the Wishes viewing area? Is it closed off or open to everyone?

For MNSSHP this year (just wrapped), reports were it was open to anyone. I expect the same for MVMCP.

I can't imagine why they'd close it off during a time when it can't be used for FP.

We sat in the FP area during the Halloween Party 2 weeks ago. It is wide open and since many don't realize that, it was not very crowded on the night we went (10/18)
Nicer still, no CM asking folks to stand so we sat the entire show. Awesomeness
