mvf-m11c birthday Live TR at WDW on Dec 10-17, 2010

Now the 2nd part of my TR on Dec 11, 2010.

My DA and I rested up until 4:30pm and it was time to head on over to DHS and get ready for the first F! show at 6:30pm. We got to DHS around 5:00pm and we walked at the main entrance of DHS and saw another decorated tree by the entrance.

We walked in Hollywood Blvd and than head on over to Sunset Blvd and at the main the main entrance of F! stadium.

Than we walked into the F! stadium and we were close to the center of the viewing area. We got there around 5:10pm and we waited for one and a half hour until the 6:30pm F! show starts.

Than after the 6:30pm F! we walked on out of the stadium and head over towards the Streets of America to see "The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Light". It tooks us awhile to get over to Streets of America since there were some people that just finished the 6:30pm F! show and walked straight over there. The Streets of America was so long that it took us awhile to get over there and see the all the buildings.

Than after the Osborne Family lights, it was time to leave the park since we need to get to the Boardwalk for the Kings and Heat game. But it was around 8pm since we left DHS. We were too early so we headed on over to DTD first before we go to the Boardwalk resort.

We got to DTD around 8:10pm and we walked around the whole area and looked at each different store and see what is there to buy when we get closer to our last day. We stopped at the WoD store, Art of Disney, etc. and than it was around 8:50pm and we decided it was time to walk back to the car and get to the Boardwalk resort.

It was around 9:10pm that we got to the Boardwalk resort. Before we headed on over to the ESPN Club, we first went in the Boardwalk resort main lobby and got to see the Gingerbread house. It was really nice and the decorations on it were so amazing.

5255554264_0b4146a517_b.jpg

The gingerbread house in the main lobby was great that we forgot that we were here for dinner at the ESPN Club. When we got in the ESPN club around 8:30pm we had to wait for awhile and we got in around 8:50pm. It really close for the two of us so we got to see the Kings and Heat game. First we had the Teriyaki wings and later my DA had the Veggie burger and I had a steak dinner. We stayed at the ESPN Club until 11:50pm when the Kings are getting blown out by the Heat.

We left the Boardwalk resort and got back to the resort around 12:15am. It was late that night but we need the rest since we got MVMCP the next day. That day was not bad for a birthday since I got to do the Steam engine tour, DHS, and ESPN Club for the Kings game.

Happy Birthday! I see from your trip report that the train tour was well worth the money. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Loved your photos and trip report for your first day. Looking forward to hearing more about your trip.

How is the weather?

Sounds like you ha a great birthday. I love your pics of the Osborn Family lights. That is one thing I would like to see one day.

Wow, you are covering a lot of ground there! The train tour sounds so interesting - does DL offer a similar tour?

Than we looked at the castle when we walked out.

The castle doesn't look decorated for the holidays - is it?

Thx tksbaskets

The weather on Saturday was great all day and than on Sunday it was fine in the morning than until around noon it started to rain. A lot of people were taking cover, but most of the afternoon it was just sprinkling. So at least it didn't affect me and my DA during MVMCP tonight.

You are right about that Liza, the Osborne Family lights were amazing and they were better in person than watching it on youtube or pictures.

Now is the time to post Sunday Dec. 12, 2010 TR. I also can't post my pictures to my flickr account so I will post all the pics when I get back on Friday. I will try again and see if I can post the pics.

On Sunday morning after my DA and I finished DHS and see Osborne Family lights, my DA didn't want to go to the parks until that night when we went to MVMCP. She also is going to a presentation at the resort and I would say that those workers at the Sheraton Vistana Resort are trying to sell her of buying shares at the resort. But that is not going to happen unless she gets a killer deal. So I went to the WDW resort by myself. Yes, I am going alone in the parks as like I have done at DL just a few weeks ago.

So I got up at 7:00am and left the resort around 7:20am. So the first thing I did was to head to the MK. My plan is to take pictures of the Holiday decorations around the MK. I got at the parking lot around 7:35am, and took the Express monorail to the MK main gate.

5260344341_a5b8034b33_b.jpg

When I got to the main gate around 7:50am, they were letting guests into the park already. So I got in the park early and walked around MS USA. Than the I went through Cinderella Castle and walked FL. When I looked around, PP was not even that long so I decided to ride on PP. I only had to wait only 1 minute to get on the pirate ship. The PP at WDW is not as exciting as DL PP. After that, I walked down toward Liberty Square and Frontierland, I just kept taking pics of the Holiday decorations wherever I can find. Than I walked past Partners schedule and over to Tomorrowland and decided to ride on BLSRS. When I got out I got the max 999,999 points. I took the advice from the books and youtube of the secret targets that gets you a lot of points.

Than it was close to 8:45am and I wanted to get to EPCOT and do some activities over there. So I left Tomorrowland and walked down MS and looked for more Holiday decorations. I left the MK around 8:50am and got on the Resort monorail and head on over to the TTC.

I got off the resort monorail at the TTC and transfer over to the EPCOT monorail. I got to ride on monorail coral which has the TRON Legacy logos. It has been over 9 months since I got to ride on the TRON rail and they still have the advertisement on the monorail. When I got to the EPCOT main entrance, it was already 9:15. It took so long with one of the monorails being late and a lot of guests were boarding the monorail.

When I got inside EPCOT, the first thing I did was to go towards the Land and see if they have any FP left for Soarin. When I got inside the Land, the FP machine said that I can enter the FP line at 1:00pm. That is a long wait for me so I just got one for a souvenir. After getting a FP, I just went around Future world and took as many pics of the buildings and rides around the park. I did not feel like to ride on any rides during the first two hours until World Showcase opens at 11am. I also went to the Mouse Gear store and looked at any merchandise that I want to buy later during my trip.

Than it was 11am so World Showcase was open. The first thing I did was go to the Mexico Pavilion and rode Gran Fiesta Tour which was only one minute wait. After the Mexico Pavilion, I head on over to the Norway Pavilion and rode Maelstrom which I only had to wait for only 2 minutes. With Maelstrom finished, I was waiting to watch American Adventure. It was way too early so I head on over to the Japan Pavilion and went in the Mitsukoshi store and check out some of the merchandise. Than when I got out of the store, it started to rain like crazy. So I walked out into the rain and head on straight over to the American Pavilion to see the American Adventure. When I got inside, I was not completely wet but was wet. Than it was 12pm and got to see the show.

When the show was over, I decided to head on back to the resort. So it took me awhile to get out of EPCOT while it was sprinkling. When I got out of EPCOT, I had to get back on the monorail to go back to the TTC where my car was parked. Than I got to the TTC and got back in the car. I left the TTC around 2:30pm. I got out of there a little late than I expected.

Before I went back to the hotel, I stopped at Steak N Shake again. I like eating at that restaurant since we don't have it on the west coast.

I will write the 2nd part of TR shortly. I will update with more pics and finally my cpu is letting me load pics.

When I got back to the hotel it was around 3:00pm and I used that time to rest up until it was time to head on back to the MK for MVMCP.

My DA and I rested up at the resort until it was around 5:20pm. I remember to bring my MVMCP tickets since we need them to enter the MK during MVMCP. We left the resort and head on over to the MK.

We got to the TTC around 5:35pm and took the Ferry to the MK. When we got at the MK main gate, we had to go to the right side of the gate. Than we both got banded up after we entered the park. The wristband was a snapped on one and had decorations on it which I had expected. The DL MHP (Mickey's Halloween Party) just used a ordinary purple sticker band for the ticket holders. I expected that WDW would have a better wristband than DL since DL has never done a exclusive party.

When we got inside the park, the park was crowded with the regular ticket holders and the MVMCP ticket holders. We walked down MS and saw that the CMs were telling any guests who want to participate they go to TL and get the wristbands. So the first thing that my DA and I did was go to FL and see Mickey's PhilharMagic. My DA was very impressed with Mickey's PhilharMagic and wanted to see it later during out trip.

After that we head on over to IASW. It's just not the same as DL IASWH which is decorated with the Holiday overlay.

Than we head on over to Frontierland and watch Country Bears. It was nice to see Country Bears since it is not at DL anymore. But it was great to watch an old classic show that is over at the MK.

We finished watching Country Bears and now my DA wanted to see the MK POTC. It was also close to 7pm which means it is time of the party. We went on POTC and she was not impressed with the MK version. She really like the part with the drop and the Blue Bayou restaurant at the beginning of the ride.

It was time for the party and the first thing we did when we were in Adventureland was getting Holiday treats. So we went Sunshine Tree Terrace and got our hot cocoa and cookies. Than we head on over to MS and try to get a curb spot right by Casey's Corner and the Plaza restaurant. We just barely got a spot by Casey's Corner. It was around 7:15pm when we got the spot.

While we wait, I wanted to get some pics of the castle up close and also the "Celebrate the Season" show was about to start at 7:45pm. So my DA waited at the spot while I went over to the Partners statue and videotape the show. When the show was over, the video was really bad so I will do another videotape of "Celebrate the Season" at 10:05 after the parade. We waited by Casey's Corner until the parade started at 9:30pm.

The MOUAC parade was very nice, but I believe that DL "A Christmas Fantasy" parade is way better than MOUAC parade. I really like the Toy Soldiers which easily outnumbers DL Toy Soldiers. The float with the princess were very nice and seeing Scrooge was great to see.

After the parade, we stayed in our same spots and getting ready for "Holiday Wishes" firework. When it was time for the fireworks, there was a kid which was right next to me pulled my bag away from my feet. I said "hey why are you taking my bag?" He said that he wanted my Glow stick that was attached to my bag. Than the mother was asking me why I was yelling at her son. I told her that he moved my bag away from my feet and I asked him why he is doing that. She than said sorry for her son for grabbing my bag. I told her that he wanted the glow stick and the sting, so I just said that he can have the glow stick and string since I have another in my bag. He was really happy and she thanked me for giving away the glow stick.

Than it was time for "Holiday Wishes" fireworks. It was really windy and cold that night and my DA thought they won't show the fireworks since it was so windy. I told her that the MK would still have the fireworks even though it is windy. It is not like DL which could cancel the fireworks if it is really windy. the fireworks was great and the projections was really amazing.

After the fireworks, we went over to the partners statue and get a good spot for the 2nd show of "Celebrate the Season" show. The shot was way better than the first and it was neat to see the main Disney characters talked during the show.

We than went over to FL and go around to find more Treat stations. But we than went over to TL and got treats at the Noodle station. Than when we were about to head on over to the Emporium to go shopping, the 2nd parade had already start and we had to wait until it was at the end.

I got to take a picture of Cinderella Castle on the side
5257021688_bb4a951139_b.jpg

After the parade, we went in the Emporium and bought a couple of MVMCP shirts and two MVMCP pins. Than we went toward the exit of the MK.

Got on the Resort monorail since the Express had a long wait. Head off of the monorail at the TTC. Got to the car and went back to the resort around midnight.

MVMCP was just as I expected since after doing MHP at DL. But this one was well organize than DL. The treats were great and the event shows were awesome. But I wished that there would be more of a choice for the MVMCP merchandise. There was just too little of a choice. But overall, it was a great experience. If I had the opportunity to do it again, I would easily do it again. The night was almost ruined by that kid who wanted my glow stick. When the kid pulled my bag from my feet, I thought he was trying to steal it with some of my equipment. In the end, I was kind enough to give him my glow stick. I hope you enjoyed the TR. I will write the rest another day but I about to head over to EPCOT for Illuminations.

Thanks Brett for the details on the MVMCP. I always wondered what they did for this event. If they ever have one at DL, I'll have a good idea what to expect.

Than we head on over to Frontierland and watch Country Bears. It was nice to see Country Bears since it is not at DL anymore. But it was great to watch an old classic show that is over at the MK.

Did the Country Bears have a holiday type show? Whenever we go to MK, we always make sure we do the old classics that are no longer at DL. The nice thing is my teenage girls are fond of these classics, too.

It did not have the holiday overlay. I was disappointed that the MK didn't decorated CB. It was nice to see the show since DL doesn't have it anymore. I know DL had a holiday overlay back in the old days.

I am disappointed the CB is not decked out for the holidays. I remember when it was decorated for Christmas, too.

Awesome pictures!

I really like all the planters at the beginning of Main Street and how they have such cool decor in them. When we went, it was October and they had different scarecrow scenes in each. And the castle with the is so pretty with it's large entryway - so different from ours.

Is that fruit on the wreaths on Main Street? Interesting choice. :lmao:

I just saw on the news that is was 28 degrees in Orlando today :scared1: - how are you surviving the cold? Did you know before hand that it would be so cold?

Yes, on the wreaths on MS it has fruits in the wreaths going down the streets.

Today was cold, I would say in the afternoon that my DA and I went to DHS and it was close to around 50 degrees. Than tonight it said around 30 degrees. But it was not as bad as last night. It was really cold last night when my DA and I did Illuminations because it was windy last night and tonight is not as bad as last night.

Sounds like we may need to bring something besides a sweat shirt next week. Burrr... Of course it was 8 degrees here today in Michigan.

I'm enjoying your trip report and all the wonderful pictures.

Now its time to go back to my TR for Dec. 13, 2010. This is also one of the days that it would be really cold so we would be prepared to wear extra clothes just in case if it gets to freezing temperatures. Any temperature under 40 for us is cold. We don't get that cold weather back in Sacramento.

It was around 7am and I got up while my DA was still sleeping. We are planning on going to EPCOT for the day to do some of the rides and shows during that day. My DA got up a little late around 8am but we need to be there at least by opening time at 9am. So my DA and I have left the Sheraton Vistana Resort around 8:30am.

We got to EPCOT around 8:50am and we got to walk up straight into the park before the rope drop. But before we went inside EPCOT, I showed my DA my "Leave a Legacy" picture up front. I remember to show her my picture of me and my brother that we did 9 years ago when it was new. She can't believe that we still look the same after all of those years.

After that we got to the rope drop right by the fountain and when it got to 9am, EPCOT is officially open for the day. The first thing we did was head on over to the Land and get FP for Soarin. I don't know why I went over to Soarin and get on since it is the same as DCA but my DA wanted to see the WDW queue of Soarin. When we got our FP we only had to wait until 9:48am.

Than we head out of the Land instead of waiting in line since it was already at 15 min wait. Our next stop was over to Test Track. It took just a few minutes for us to get to Test Track and there was no line. We only had to wait for only 5 minutes to get on. She really liked the ride and was even better when we didn't have to wait.

We than head on over to Spaceship Earth. It just took about 3 minutes for us to walk over from Test Track to Spaceship Earth. The good thing about it is that we walked on the ride immediately. I remember the ride well back when I was in March/April. But my DA said that it was completely different than back in 2001. I told her that it was updated just awhile ago and is more fun than before.

When we got off Spaceship Earth, we went over to the Seas with Nemo and Friends. I told her that this is a opposite version of FNSV at DL where we don't get the submarines but the clam mobiles. But the technology is the same just like the FNSV. It was not even 5 min for us to wait to get on the ride.

Than it was time to head on back to the Land and get on Soarin. We went into the Land and head on over to the Soarin FP line and used our FP for our return time. When we got in line we were kind of surprise to see the same family that did the tour with us on Saturday. They were surprised to see us and said "what a small world to see you again". When my DA saw the queue it was not impressive as DCA queue. Soarin was just the same as DCA and wasn't surprise about it.

Than we went over to Living with the Land with the same family that we did the tour and got to see the plants and fish. My DA really like all the different type of plants that they grow at the Land.

We head on out of the Land and head on over to Imagination! and rode Journey Into Imagination with Figment. My DA was surprise to see that it is completely different from 9 years ago. There were a few upgrade to the ride since I have seen it a few years ago.

The World Showcase finally opened and we head on over to the Mexico Pavilion and rode the Gran Fiesta Tour. There were quite a few people in line but it was just about a 2 minute wait. The atmosphere of going down the Gran Fiesta Tour is just like the POTC with the Blue Bayou restaurant.

Our next pavilion was the Norway and we rode the Maelstrom. We only had to wait only 1 minute to get on the ride. The decorations of the Norway pavilion were very nice and the merchandise was also great.

We were about to go to the China pavilion and see Reflections of China, but I told her that we should go to the American pavilion and see "The American Adventure". So we head on over to the American pavilion and just had to wait for 4 minutes until the 12pm "The American Adventure" show.

After the show, it was time to head on over to the Coral Reef for our 12:50pm reservation. When we got to the Coral Reef, there were quite a lot of people who are waiting to get in. We were 3 minutes late, but we only had to wait for only 3 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was even better in person than seeing the pictures online. My neighbor said that I should do this restaurant because of the atmosphere and the fish. When we ordered our food, my DA had the crab cakes and soup while I had the Lobster Ravioli. All the food was great and she told me that it was fine but she didn't want to do it again if we came back.

When we finished lunch, we went back to World Showcase and the first thing we did was go to the Canada pavilion and see O Canada!.

After O Canada!, we head on over to the French pavilion and watch Impressions de France.

We went over to the Japan pavilion after the France pavilion. We went into the Mitsukoshi store until I saw a friend of mine in Sacramento. I was kind of surprise to see him in Orlando. I talked to him for awhile and asked why he was in Orlando. But it was common that he was on vacation. We bowl together in the leagues. Than he told me to have a great trip and I said the same thing. Than my DA and I went shopping in the store and got a nice purse that my DA liked.

Than we went over back to the China pavilion and watch "Reflections of China" in the 360 degree room.

After that, it was already 4pm so we headed back to the room and rest up for the 9:30pm Illuminations. When we left it started to get chilly at the park. My DA said that we should bring extra clothes just in case so we won't get cold. We got back to the room around 4:45pm and started to rest up while I am still keep writing my TR.

When it was time to head on back to EPCOT it was around 7:30pm. We left the resort and got to the park at 8:00pm. This was very early for us since my DA wanted to wait until later but I wanted to get a good spot for Illuminations. When we got in the park, it got really windy and now it was starting to feel really cold. But we went straight in and I was planning on getting my spot by the two stores by the World Showcase lagoon, but I remember that the CP dinner reservation guests get the viewing area. So we went around over to the American pavilion.

We got to the American pavilion and it was not even close to the time for Illuminations, so she went in American pavilion and waited until it was time for the show. I watch the 8pm CP in the back side and I was very impressed with the show.

When the CP was over I got my DA from the American pavilion and got a spot by the Italy pavilion railing for the 9:30pm Illuminations. The good thing about it is that we only had to wait 15 minutes until the show started. It was really windy and cold that day that there was not too many people. Looks like the cold and windy night made the guests to leave early instead of watching it. The show started at 9:30pm and the Holiday version of Illuminations at the end was great. I also watch it tonight just by myself since my DA didn't want to go out since it was cold.

Than we head on out of EPCOT, but before we left, I want to stop at the Mouse Gear store and get the Illuminations CD so I can edit the music with my video camera if the music is bad when I videotaped it.

We head on out of the park around 10:15 and head straight on back to the resort and called it for the night.

That was a really crazy day with the cold weather. But we got to do all of the rides and shows that we wanted to do at EPCOT. We did not do Universe of Energy (we did this ride before), Captain EO (it is already at DL) and Mission" Space since she didn't like intense rides. The day was fun but the weather was just insane. We were crazy to be out there that night but it was nice to see Illuminations.

I will try to post the pictures of this day and MVMCP on Sunday. Thx for reading my TR.

Thx for reading my TR. :thumbsup2

Now is the time to write my TR for Tuesday Dec. 14, 2010.

My DA and I were sleeping longer than usual and we did not get up around 9am that morning. I was planning on getting up around 8:00am and head to the DHS at 9:00am for the rope drop. But we didn't need to get up early since we didn't need to go on any rides during that part of the morning so we waited until we left the resort around 11:30am to the DHS.

We got to the DHS around 12pm and the park was really crowded for a level 2 on tp. When we checked out all the ride wait times, TSMM was already at 70+ minute wait while ToT was at 30+ wait. So the first thing we did was to go n the Great Movie ride. We had to wait almost 25 minutes to get the ride.

Than we finished, it was already 12:45pm so we head on over to the Street of America and it was time to go and see LMA Extreme Stunt Show for the 1pm time. We got there early and we were a few row up from the bottom.

When LMAESS ended, we went on the Studio Backlot tour. My DA said that the SBT was shorter than the last time she went on it since 2001. I told her since they added LMAESS to the park, they had to take part of the SBT out to fit the stage in.

After the SBT, we went to the Walt Disney: One Man's Dream. This was more of a little tour about WD life and pics and models of the rides at the Disney parks around the world. When I was there last March/April, before we got to the stage, it was a little different than the last time. They have the model of DCA paradise pier with the new rides and shows. I remember seeing that model from the Blue Sky Cellar from DCA. So that where they brought the model after DCA changed the Blue Sky Cellar.

It was already 3pm and my DA was tired so we went back to the resort and rest. She didn't want to go out since it would be really cold around 30s. But first we went to Steak N' Shake again to have lunch before we went back to the resort.

Later during that day it was around 6pm, I told her that since MK has MVMCP and DHS doesn't have F! that night, I would go back to EPCOT to see Illuminations. She was fine with it since she didn't want to go out.

I left the resort around 6:30pm, before I head on over to EPCOT, I first stopped at DTD and do some shopping for my family and friends. I got to DTD around 7pm and start going around area. I first stopped at WoD store and did some shopping. I got some WDW Holiday merchandise for the people I would buy. Luckily with my Premier, I got the big discount and save almost $50 of merchandise. I also stopped at the Art of Disney store and trader pin store.

Than it around 8pm so I decided to get back in my car and head on over to EPCOT for the 9:30pm Illumination show. I got to the parking lot around 8:30pm and the first thing I did was head on the back side of World Showcase and videotape the show. But I remember that MVMCP fireworks start at 9:30 so I went back to the Italy pavilion side and hope that I can videotape the fireworks and Illuminations at the same time. When Illuminations start, I also saw the fireworks coming from the MK. I was lucky to get both Illuminations and Wishes Holiday fireworks at the same time.

Than after Illuminations, I went back straight out to the exit and head on back to the resort.

I didn't do much today and go on the rides and shows that I have planned. But with the cold weather coming into play, my DA doesn't want to be out there at night when it is cold.

Hi Bret,
Sounds like you packed a lot into your day! How cold was it at night? We are trying to decide if we need to bring coats next week.

Did your DA like Illuminations?
Enjoying your report! :goodvibes
