Muzzy and Professor Toto...Anyone Use them?

I want my two kids 3 and 4 to start learning other languages. Sending them to language school is too expensive right now (about $2000 - $4000 for the school year, depending where you go). Anyone use Muzzy or Professor Toto, and if so, how did you like them? Can the kdis really learn from them, or is a classroom setting better?

While my kids liked to watch Muzzy they were not able to learn much in that way. I am sure it works for some, just not us. My kids were about that same age when we tried Muzzy.

There are lots of on-line lessons that are free and also books, DVD's, CD's.
Have you tried anything yet, or are you just starting to look into it? Your library might have some of these programs so you could try before you buy.

We have workbooks (we homeschool) for both french and Spanish that they like a lot, but my kids are older than yours now.

Hire a nanny/babysitter that speaks a foreign language. My Portuguese neighbors baby was fluent in Portuguese, Chinese and English by the time he entered elementary school because of the Chinese nanny! Immersion is the only way to really learn a language, otherwise you only basically learn how to read and write it. People in real conversational life just don't speak like they do on those programs.

I agree with immersion. (cant afford a nanny though LOL!) another thing... once a kid stops using, they lose it.
