Myself and 2 friends are going to WDW again may 8th - 22nd this year and have been toying with the idea of renting a mustang for the 2 weeks! I have a couple of questions though for anybody who has done this before....

Firstly will there be enough room for 3 adults luggage?

Where is the best place to rent from that will 100% be a mustang ( flying into Sanford) as most places say mustang or similar

cheers guys

I rented a mustang a few years ago in Miami. Although the seating space will be Ok for 3 adults, if you have large bags, the answer is certainly no. I had 1 medium sized bag but couldn't get it in the boot. It had to go on the back seat. The problem is that the boot is a strange shape with a small opening. If you are taking regular UK sized luggage, the answer is certainly no.

We hired a mustang from alamo in 2012, there was 3 of us with 1 large and 2 medium cases and we managed to get the large and 1 of the medium bags in the boot and we put the other in the back. You will certainly fit the bags in even if you put 1 in the boot and have 2 in the back.

Where you guaranteed the mustang or was it a mustang or similar at point of booking?

I have never rented a mustang, but I own one, so I hope I can help!

Mine is a 2007, so if you rent one, it will be newer of course.

The back seats are very small. My two kids HATE riding back there (in fact, my husband now drives it and I got a larger SUV since I'm the one who hauls the kids around most of the time). However, the trunk (boot) on mine is HUGE. It seems like it would be small, but it's very deep and fits a ton of stuff.

An example of the size...When we got married, It held three medium sized boxes of decorations AND our two large suitcases we took for our week long honeymoon. And we could still pack smaller soft things (pillows, etc...) around the edges.

Good luck and have fun! I love my car and miss driving it every day. I hope you can find a rental place that gives you what you're looking for!

I rented one from Hertz in 2012, we fit two decent sized cases and all hand luggage etc in the boot, was a bit of extra room but would not have fit three in.

Parents rented a mustang convertible in Miami last year and could only get one case in boot due to roof space, other was on back seat.

I also managed to average 10mpg over the week so be prepared to fill it up, although can't complain at US fuel prices :thumbsup2

Looking to go back this year, and viewing hire cars had a Charger, and a Mustang previous years so think a Camaro might be in order this year.

If its a Mustang you are after, it seems difficult to reserve that exact vehicle this year, not sure if that's due to new model coming out or they just got better deals with other manufacturers for vehicles.

Der…that's why I couldn't fit my suitcase in. I had a convertible! Much smaller boot.

A loth of the companies there days are just sending you to a car lot with different models of the same size. It's pot luck what's there. However, as there are the same hire car places on both sides of the airport, you can ask if there's one around the other side and get them to bring it over.
