I went to UNC Chapel Hill in the 70s. Two semesters of P.E. and passing the swim test were graduation requirements. If you couldn't pass swim going in, you took it for P.E.
At one time, UNC required a health class of some kind. One my favorite teachers did not have a bachelor's degree b/c he refused to take that class when he came back from WWII. Around the time he retired, he was awarded an honorary degree. That prof, incidentally, was Jim Shumaker, Jeff McNally's model for Shoe in the comic strip by the same time.
I have no problem with requiring the class that PSU is requiring, but it should be for everyone. Thin people need to know about nutrition, too.
