Must-see parade with young children?

I just checked the events for the MK for May and there are three parades - the "Celebrate a Dream Come True" every afternoon; and they alternate nights between Spectromagic and Wishes (both at 9).

Please do not tell me that we must see all three. We live in FL and will be going to Disney many times in the coming years, so I'm sure at some point we'll catch most if not all. I'm just wanting to know which of the three is a MUST when you have young kids. And are the night-time parades really worth it? (for the kids, I mean.)

I would say Wishes is by far the "must see" of this list. Spectomagic would be my #2 pick. The afternoon parade is good but it just doesn't have the "wow factor" that the other two have.

Also, Wishes is a fireworks show, not a parade. I don't know if that will make a difference for you. How old are the kids?

My boys at similar ages are wowed by Spectromagic...if you can only see 1, see this!

If it were me, I would be SURE to see Spectromagic, the night parade. Your children would love all of the lights on the floats! Plus, I have heard rumors that this parade might be replaced in the near future. So, I would try to be sure to see this one first, just in case those rumors would have some validity to them!

I agree. Spectro is the most magical if the kids aren't as into fireworks. BUT make sure to see Wishes some time when you visit again because it isn't your run of the mill fireworks show. It is set to music and absolutely magical. :lovestruc

We personally aren't fond of Spectromagic. By the time Spectromagic comes around, my kids are done. They don't see the actual characters, they see a bunch of lights LOL - The rest of us love it but my kids just don't care for it.

We all LOVE Wishes! The fireworks show is just great.

I love love love the afternoon parades. My kids can see the characters and they just love it.

Our new favorite is the street party at MK. The character interaction with the dancing and singing is FANTASTIC!! My kids LOVE THIS!

My kids are 6, 4, 3 on Mothers Day, and 1.

Oh and we live in St. Augustine, FL - Hi neighbor! My husband and I were born and raised in Jax.

Yay! Another local! :)

I really do want to catch Wishes, I'm just not sure how the boys will handle it. The afternoon parade sounds ideal!:thumbsup2
