We will have 2 days on our own this Summer. One day at SSR.and BWV.

On our list is Jelly roll, no ddp, Shula's.

What else? I don't have a clue which parks to do...

If you never did Victoria and Alberts before, you really should. Its one of the best restaurants that I ever went to. Only problem is that its a bit expensive, but well worth it

I agree with Jean's idea about Cirque - a wonderful date night out! You can eat at DTD (either a quick CS or a nice TS if you want) to finish out the night.

While at BW, definitely walk to Epcot and just stroll around. It is a wonderful way to enjoy a day together.

I don't know how much park time you want, but while at SSR you might enjoy an afternoon at the spa too. My husband and I enjoyed a couple's massage on our honeymoon and it was a perfect way to relax together. Admittedly, we have never taken the time to do it while at WDW, but since you are staying at SSR, it might be a great time to escape the heat and enjoy it!

Ditto to eating at V&A's (located at Grand Floridian resort). Pricey, yes; perfect dining experience, YES!

There is a lot to do and see on the boardwalk at night on your way to/from Jelly Rolls. Eat before going to Jelly Rolls because they do not offer food. There are numerous places to eat at or near BWV or EPCOT is a short walk away for all the different restaurants there. Our favorite on the boardwalk is the Flying Fish. Kouzzina's is right there too but was under renovation the last time we were there. In EPCOT, we love Bistro de Paris in the France pavillion but there are so many to choose from. Are you starting to see what we like to do at WDW? :lmao:

While at SSR, you can take the boat to DTD. There is also a spa there at SSR where you can get a massage.

I vote for a stroll through Epcot... Always fun when you really have no plans party:

Our two must do's on any adult trip is Jelly Rolls and Drinking around the world. Usually in the same night. We like to book BWV for those trips so its just a short stagger back to the room!:thumbsup2

Ok, we are going in August and it will be HOT!! We are going to SSR and probly wont get there until 11 or 12. So, I was thinking of

Plan 1
Just hang out at the pool and go to DTD that night. We have a gift cert for HOB and thought we could just walk around and have some drinks.....

Then Day 2, go to MK and check in at BWV for the night and hang out at Epcot and Jellyrolls.

or
Plan 2

Go to Mk when we get there and ride some rides.

Day 2 go to Epcot and then continue the rest of the day.

When you all go for a short adult only trip- do you find that the parks are secondary?????

We will be going to Caribe Royale for a conference, so I will get some pool time there while hubby is in meetings....

Thanks everyone! It will be so weird to not have the kids!

We're in the same boat! DH and I leave for our first trip without the kids on Friday afternoon. We'll have Fri night, Sat, Sun and leave Monday morning. It's short-but we need some time together. At first DH just wanted to hang by the pool and 'relax.' Well...that all has changed as we get closer--having AP's the thought of NOT going to a park is ridiculous now! LOL We'll probably still hang out at SSR during the day, but since the parks are open late, head there after dinner and just stroll...CAN'T WAIT!!!

OP--enjoy your trip!!!

DH and I had an adult only trip in March and it was so wonderful. It really is a whole different experience. Our favorite thing to do was go the Epcot, get a drink and snack and sit at the tables in Italy. We really felt like we were in Europe sitting at a cafe. Loved it! We also have done the Epcot segway tour--SOOOO much fun! Well worth the money! We would do it again in a heartbeat!

DW and I were sans kids the week after Thanksgiving last year (TR link below). Even though our "kids" are 26 & 23, it was great to take our time, eat where we wanted to, go on a tour and just enjoy a non-commando trip! :cool1:

Drink around the world, no doubt!!!!! But, I
never make it to all (or even half) LOL!!! It is always a favorite of ours, even when the kids are with us. We spend all day, look at the countries, eat, shop, and son does Kim Possible. We have never been without kids but are looking forward to it.....only about 10 more years.

For us, parks are not secondary on an adults only trip, but the rides are. We will hit our favorites if it works out....maybe have a must do here or there (anything new or refurbished like Star Tours, etc). But, if we go a day without rides its ok, we just enjoy walking the parks and enjoying ourselves.
