Must by 40" aAND 3yrs old to ride Splash Mtn.?

According to Birnbaum's Disneyland 2007, you must be 3 years old and 40" to ride Splash Mtn. My DS just reached 40", but will not turn 3 until the end of the summer (we travel in June). He really wants to ride Splash, (it's all his older brother talks about, that Tom is finally big enough to ride with him!)
That's not the way it is in Disney World. Why (other than the obvious financial gain for Disney) would they make an age requirement in addition to a height requirement? And has anyone ever encountered a CM asking to see a child's ticket in order to ride Splash?

According to the Disney website the only restriction is a height requirement of 40". It also says "Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a responsible person", but no mention of an minimum age requirement. I think you will be OK - I've never heard of anyone asking to see a ticket to get on a ride. (sorry - an attraction...)

When my dd first rode Splash she was 4 years old but barely 40 inches. They measured her but never asked to see anything else. She was obviously over 3 years old but I don't see them asking as long as you reach the height requirement.

Never been asked about either child's ages, just height. Just tell him to "look 3."

I agree, as long as he is okay to ride and meets the height, it doesn't matter how old. I do remember one having an age requirement, is it Big Thunder or Matterhorn. I dont' know if it was official but I remember reading in a few places where it said 3 also! They won't ask, and since most kids that are 40" are already 3, he must look older than he is!

Unless some rules have changed over the last couple of years...they only need to be 40" tall to ride. My son was only 2yr old when he 1st rode it, they didn't even ask him his age.
