We just got back from Disneyland yesterday (so sad to be back to reality) and I am now working on putting our pictures and videos to music. Does anybody have any suggestions on songs to use? I am looking for both music that is Disney (I have a lot of Disney movie soundtracks) but also music that isn't necessarily Disney but still gives you that warm fuzzy feeling. I am also looking for some songs that are upbeat and happy and songs that are slow and sentimental, a good mix. Any ideas or suggestions?

i agree with somewhere only we know by keane! it's such a great song!
how about forever young by rod stewart?

wonderful world by Louise Armstrong - slow
shiny happy people R.E.M - upbeat

of course it is always good to use music that everyone in your family loves...even if that means some of the kids favorites

Remember When - LeAnn Rimes from 50th Anniversary recording for Disneyland.
Welcome - Tarzan soundtrack "Welcome to our Family time..."
M.I.C.K.E.Y - Tony Basil "Oh mickey your so fine...."
Good Life - One Republic
Are we Dancing - John Davidson/Lesley Ann Warren

Here are some lesser know ones...

We've also used music from the Christmas Parade from last year with Neil Patrick Harris, Come and save Me by Gloriana, Uncharted by Sara Bareilles, Somewhere only we've know by Keane, The World you dreamed of lately by Daniel Powter.

These are some that I can think of off the top of my head. Hope you have fun with it!

Five for Fighting have a song called "It's a nice day when you wake up in Disneyland" (not sure if that's the title, but that's how it goes.) DH used it for a slideshow, but had to edit the song because it said something about "got my lazy a$$ outa bed" so he somehow edited it to "lazy head" to make it child appropriate.

Here's our video on youtube if you want to take a look:

I always go on vimeo and watch other people's Disney videos for inspiration. Songs I have used:

Imagine Dragons - Top of the world
Pitbull/Christina - Feel this moment
Holiday Road (can't remember artist)
Owl City/Carly Rae Jepsen - Good Time
Rascal Flatts - Life is a highway
Toy Story - you've got a friend in me (for a segment with clips of just my kids together)
Billy Joel - When you wish upon a star
Selena Gomez - Magic
Flo Rida - Club can't handle me
Aly & AJ - Walkin' on sunshine
Los Lobos - Bare Necessities

Okay... I've made quite a few videos :)

What about some of the soundtracks from the rides? Some years back I had a CD that had several ride songs. IASW, Pirates, Tiki Room and my mind is escaping me on the others! What about the classic Jiminy Cricket version of "When you wish upon a star" or Mary Poppins "Supercalifragilistic"?

"Welcome" from Brother Bear is required listening for our Disney trips. We usually drive, and as soon as we get on the freeway, that song is blasting on the speakers.

I then follow it up with "Celebrate You" by Corbin Bleu. I find these two help me to settle down and feel like my trip is really here and we are on our way.

After these, we usually settle down to an audio book for the next 6 or more hours depending on where we are coming from.

Good luck on your video!

American Authors- Best day of my life

I'll be using this one for my family video after our upcoming trip! I like that its a current hit so it dates the video.

I like....

Joy - Apollo 100
California - Phantom Planet
Hey, Soul Sister - Train
Good Life - One Republic

My DD was just explaining to my DH what the "Disney song is" - she was referring to Good Life by One Republic as it's a recent commercial she thought had a pretty good Disney feel about it...

I have fallen in love with the Brother Bear "Welcome" song. It ended up being the perfect Disneyland video song.

I used a lot of instrumentals from the Disneyland CD and a couple from my daughter's personalized Princess Tea CD. "Every girl can be a Princess" was great for the BBB sequence!
