OUr son was just diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I was just wondering if there were other families out there, on these boards that are experiencing this.

Check out the Disabilities board. I'm sure there is someone there who might know something, put you in touch with other boards, etc. I'm really sorry this is happening to your son. You must be devastated.

There is a Mom on fishingfordeals whose son was diagnosed two to three years ago. She could probably be a good resource.

Please come over to the Disabilities Board. We're a diverse group, and someone there may well be able to share and point you towards some other message boards and information. As a young teen I volunteered at a summer camp in Delaware. My camper had Duchenne's. I loved him like he was my brother.

I'm so sorry for your son's recent diagnosis.
My 15 yo nephew has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Feel free to PM me any questions you have, and I can help point you to some good resources.

In fact, we have a team running in the WDW 1/2 Marathon in January to raise money for Parent Project, which is MD's parent organization. We're are sooo close to our goal of $10,000!
