We were married in October 2006 at Walt Disney World and had the most amazing ceremony and reception. I have posted a few photos lately and a few brides asked that I share some others due to our unique location. I cannot rave enough about how wonderful DFTW was to work with us on our locations and entire evening - it was beyond magical.

Fantasmic Dessert Party - our video is amazing of this party set up and right now I don't want it posted on a public forum but it is available on the disneymooner website www.disneymooner.com for those who are members there. (photographer was with us - one videographer went ahead)

Note that we did not ask for photos during the show.. so don't compare these to Illuminations photos :goodvibes

We were then off to RnR Courtyard... well and to the Forum as well ;)

Bad photo of me but you can tell we are excited!

DVC should hire us ;)

Muppets Courtyard - again, the video captures everything as the videographer was allowed into the space before everyone else. These are just a few of the touches from our evening.

Note that the tables are in a circle and are actually curved - they were previously used at Italy by another friend of mine for an amazing Disney Wedding - and are placed around the fountain (which was off). Also - all of our floral was re-used from the ceremony - I love dual purpose floral!

you can see the signs for Muppets in the background

We had a lot of other special touches and magical moments throughout the evening!

If you have any questions please let me know and I will try to answer them.

Was the park closed when you had your reception? I love that you got to go on the Rock N Rollercoaster in wedding attire!

I would love to read a trip report! Thank you so much for sharing, I love your pics! Its nice to see something a little different. Who doesnt love muppets?!

I'd love more information as well!

What time did you have your ceremony and reception?
Was it weird having a dessert party BEFORE reception?
Is the Muppets Courtyard crazy expensive to rent out?

Hmmm... that's it for now... there will be more I'm sure!

What a lovely day - I love the photo of you guys on rock and roller coaster :goodvibes

Wow talk about an unique location! Thanks for sharing & congrats!!

Thank you!

Thank you! Yes, the park closed when Fantasmic started. Disney doesn't allow in park receptions in open areas during park hours.

Our trip report is posted on another disney wedding website - www.disneymooner.com - which is a private forum for those couples planning Disney Weddings and Vow Renewals and a great community that many DISers are members of. We felt more comfortable posting our planning journal and recaps there as the information cannot be read by our family (you know everyone has to vent) or DFTW so we could be open and honest about our entire experience - which was VERY positive. I encourage everyone to join - it's a great group of people and a welcoming community!

Thank you. Our Ceremony was at 5:30 pm and the reception was immediately after that. The Fantasmic party wasn't desserts as we used it as our cocktail hour and served very heavy appetizers and had a bar.

DFTW will have the most up to date pricing on Muppets Courtyard. We had a venue fee (like all other venues do now) and food and beverage minimums.

Thank you! That was very important to us and DFTW made sure it happened - we were so blessed.

I am in love already! I think that is such an amazing place to have your wedding so awesome!

I just have to say second everything that's she's already said; her video is amazing! I encourage anyone who is interested to check it out on the Disneymooner site. It was a great trip report because it was really interesting to see all the info on such a unique site :cool1:

ChipsCinderelly,
It looks like you had such a unique wedding! Now I have a question, how much begging and pleading was involved in riding rnr in your gown?
I've just started my planning and was starting to think I was getting a wedding from a box but you've inspired me to look further into locations.

Thanks!

For RnR we worked with our coordinator (old sales manager) to request it and that started the ball rolling with MGM (ok DHS). Then once we were assigned a planner (old event manager) we discussed it again and continued working with MGM management (there were management changes between our site visit and planning session). We had several options at the time we were planning, including renting the ride out for a 3 hour period or paying for our guests to ride once. This ended up being the better option financially and really what we felt worked with our wedding and the open bar ;). Overall it was great working with MGM management!

Do they charge an arm and a leg for your group to ride it once?? Do you think they would allow this if you were just having an MGM dessert party? Also, does it count towards your wedding day minimum?

The cost of a ride mix-in is currently $15/person. A mix-in is where they just hold the line and escort your party in to ride it together. An complete ride buyout takes place after hours and can run in the thousands of dollars.

And if it happens on your wedding day, it counts toward the minimum. :thumbsup2

You crack me up with your post saying "Photos courtesy (mostly) of Paul Triller". I thought a couple of those photos looked familiar.....LOL!!!!

Well for someone who was at her wedding I can't tell you how wonderful it was. The ceremony was beautiful, the cocktail hour during Fantasmic was so cool, riding RnR was totally awesome, and the reception around the Muppet fountain was amazing.
I can't imagine how many total hours where put in to planning the wedding but every minute was well worth it. It was Romantic, fun and very memorable.

We didn't have a full ride mix in as our ride was coordinated to be right after park closing (eg if people were still in line when the park closed they would have been there) but that's basically how Disney and MGM handled it. The ride buy out as Carrie mentioned would have been in the thousands for a 3 hour mix and I don't think we could do less than 3 but I could be wrong. And yes, our ride counted in the minimums.

There are other rides in Epcot and DHS that wedding couples have used as well!

Aww thanks Stacy! Yes, lol after I wrote that I used many of your photos - you are the detail queen and I love that I have photos of all the food because of you guys.

I can't wait till Nick gets married ;)

Some may make fun of me for what I take pictures of but in the end they realize that "hey why didn't I do that". I'm famous to all who know me for taking food pictures especially.

I feel sorry for the poor girl Nick marries because she will have to deal with me "helping" with the wedding!!! LOL!!!!!
