Multiple waitlists

Can you have multiple waitlists for the same date range? In other words, can I have a current reservation for 2 nights at BW and enter two waitlists for 2 other resorts, like one for GF and one for BLT? If so, and one waitlist gets fulfilled, would they automatically cancel the other waitlist, or would I have to go in an cancel it?

Thanks!

except I recently had this happen to me - and ended up with 2 reservations. Perhaps I messed up though and didn't have the waitlist replacing the other reservation. Luckily I had enough points that they didn't borrow from the following year!

When I set up a waitlist, I screen shot the last page that shows what I want. What to replace and not to borrow. This way, if they mess up I have a copy of how I did it!

That's a good point - I need to do that next time!

After creating a waitlist, can you go in and view its details, like what you selected for borrowing/not borrowing, replacing existing reservation, etc.?

Only what you waitlisted. The details are no longer there so that is why I began to screenshot.

They need to fix this and also allow us to be able to change how we are borrowing or what reservations to cancel. Here is our example:
  • We made a reservation for Saratoga Springs in June. This is our least favorite resort, so we setup two other waitlists as follows:
    • Old Key West
    • Beach Club Villas
Obviously both waitlists were set to cancel Saratoga Springs if they came through and Old Key West did come through, so it cancelled Saratoga Springs. It would have been nice to be able to modify the Beach Club Villas waitlist to cancel the Old Key West reservation instead if it came through, as in June we would prefer that resort for the pool area, but are perfectly content with Old Key West if it doesn't come through.

Also, I had to redo the waitlists originally because I was borrowing from our Grand Californian contract and realized it would be better to borrow from Riviera instead, now granted it was the same night, so no real harm in canceling that waitlist and redoing it, but would be nice to have the option to modify it.

Personally, I like the way it works in that you have to go to the back of the line if one of your waitlist fills. So, I would not want to see that changed.

I have read that a call to MS to make the borrowing change of contracts is possible...just not online..and it won’t be considered new.

Its the same if you want to have a waitlist replace part of a trip. We can not do that online, but can call MS and have the note added that is what we want.

Researching my first waitlist experience. Is this still true? If one waitlist comes through, but I’m really hoping for the first one placed, do I go to the end of the line for my first waitlisted choice? That’s a game changer that hadn't occurred to me.

Thank you!

So when my Oct 2nd waitlist filled, my waitlist for Oct 4th would go to the end of the line - just because its mine or do you mean if I added a new one?

No, that is for a different date. I was referring to someone who waitlists two different rooms for the exact same darte.

For example, i currently have two waitlists for Feb 13th… studio at VGF, LV and SV.

If one fills, the other gets canceled. In that case, if I want to still try for that other one, I have to set up a new one as I got one of my original requests.
