I don't mind the multiple UY's as my wife is an uber-planner. My wife and I travel year round but avoid the July, August months. We have June UY and March UY. I would like a Dec UY for for 75-100 points at some point as well.

I have 5 UYs - I’m out of state but live close enough to drive (@8 hrs away) and go to WDW 3 or more times a year. I use my April UY for visits in May, June UY for stays in the fall (and sometimes late summer) and Oct UY for early December. My other 2 UYs are for Hilton Head - I like to go for long weekends in May and Sept with the Dec UY and recently picked up a small Sept UY to go to HH over Thanksgiving every couple of years.

I have Feb and Aug UY so that I have points year round that I can use prior to the banking deadline.

Edit: I use the Aug UY from late Aug to the end of March and the Feb UY from Feb to the end of Sep depending on how I have scheduled our trips for the year. We do at least 2 week long trips in a 1 or 2 bedroom a year and try for more when possible.

December and June. We started with December, blinded by what was a good price for a more than double point contract. Wanted more flexibility for some fall travel so added June as a second UY. We manage both UY separately (each UY have different home resort priorities), only transferred once for when we stripped a contract prior to selling.

I haven’t dealt with using different UY yet, but I have Sept and Oct for WDW.
I’m never really going to go before Oct (except the following year in Jan/Feb) so using those 2 will be fine just not sure how it works combing them for one trip.

My other UY is June but that’s for VGC so just lines up perfectly if I wanted to head down in the summer or later and doesn’t conflict with the other UY’s. And if I was to add on VDH or Aulani it would be June as well.

We have February and August. Every UY has a specific purpose.

We use the August contracts for our fall/winter travel. We do Halloween and then an extended January trip every year and sometimes a quick Christmas getaway.

The February contract is for a May trip.

We are currently in a mess where we were trying to add a small December contract to cover a March weekend for F&G but that looks like it isn’t going to close so we’ll be on the hunt for a replacement.

I have Dec UY points for 2 bdrm villas winter break- June. I have Aug UY that covers all solo trips Fall through spring break. Fall travel is 3 years in the future.

Started with Dec UY for December trips to WDW. Added in an occasional May trip, everything was good with Dec UY.

Got a taste of Grand Cali with my Poly points and then went a-shoppin' for VGC.

Found a Jun UY VGC contract that was great ($167/pt in 2019), rationalized it that we'd be going to DL more in September/November/January, which wasn't a great fit for Dec UY, so it made sense to buy a different UY. Especially rationalized it being 6m from Dec and having 'points to cover all months'.

Then also found a good VGC Dec contract, added that on to cover the January stay. Then added on a bunch more Dec UY points at WDW.

Then our plans changed.

We needed to ration our vacation time and started shifting our travel to public holiday weeks such as Christmas-NYE and Thanksgiving. So our early December trips became Thanksgiving week trips and it turns out Thanksgiving is late November, who knew. Late November is basically worst case for a Dec UY, so then we started adding on Jun UY points for WDW.

Now we truly have 'points to cover all months' and are very happy with having both Jun and Dec UY. We've never transferred between them.

Started out knowing that June UY would work best for us as we usually travel August through Dec. When the CCV FW in a Dec UY popped up, I jumped on it, but still wanted future contracts to have June.

Was a little nervous about having two but it’s already worked out well bc the last two years we’ve ended up adding a March trip, which would have made me too nervous with a June UY.

Echoing PP - I like the flexibility of being able to go year-round.

I have Feb and June and they work well for me. As to why, well that is what was available when I first bought a resale contract (June) and as for Feb, those are all at BLT which seems to have a great deal of Feb contracts.

When we bought our first contract we traveled for a few years during the summer months (kids/school), April UY made sense for us as it was explained.

Years down the road as empty nesters, it was not as ideal since we starting going March/April and Fall. We managed fine but were concerned a few times if we had to cancel our Spring reservation.

Multiple UYs can come in handy.

First was Oct UY because had no clue. Bought resale so we were eligible for BLT member incentives.

That we did get in the June UY which was ideal…I was teaching.

Sold the October within a year. Then we added Dec UY when we started wanting to go Memorial Day.

Landed with an Aug UY because the prices was great for SSR which also worked.

And that is what we have now! It all works great for all times of travel.

I waited to long to do a DVC because I didn't understand the true value was the freedom/options it brings. If I had known about this site then, I would have been so far ahead of the game in understanding it. I was only thinking about cost in the short term.

- Started with Dec UY at PVB to cover marathon weekend in Jan.
- Picked up Jun UY at VGC to cover Dumbo race weekend over Labor Day. Later added more VGC with Dec UY to cover Tink race week (when it was in Jan but later moved to Mother’s Day and SW Light Side settled in Jan).
- Picked up Mar UY at VGF to cover SW Dark Side race weekend in April.
- Picked up Aug UY at BCV to cover F&W festival and W&D race weekend.
- These next 2, Oct at SSR for SAP and Sept at BLT (for MNSSHP or MVMCP), were simply because I have no patience 😂😂😂

AUL was initially purchased with Jun for fall trips. Then added Dec to cover Feb trips. Then we wanted more trips for multiple annual trips and larger villas, and the subsidied contract with Mar showed up… 😅

RIV was added to Dec, since I do 3 trips to WDW between Dec and April, and there are enough points in Aug, Sept and Oct the 1-2 trips in the fall.

VDH was added to Aug to provide additional SAP+ coverage at WDW.

I think that’s it. So far no issues managing points at each home resort (each home resorts gets a sheet in an excel workbook, different UYs are color coded). Have columns for current UY points, banked points carried forwards, to-be-banked points and next UY points. Each reservation is tracked showing what points were used, and if transferred in/out, etc.

I started out with DEC UY because that was the best deal I found. Also have an APR UY again because of the deal. Finally went with an AUG and SEPT UY because I wanted to plan fall trips.

Most of my contracts are 200+ points so I don't really care about the UY.

I've never had to transfer points between my contracts or lost points so having multiple UY has worked out okay for me.

In nearly 100% of the cases it’s about price and then mentally looking for confirmation bias to justify the actions.

If Disney offered a low cost way to switch UYs most people would put them all in the same year.
Switching UY & Washing points from resale to direct seems like 2 things Disney could do to make their product more enticing, & turn some profit. (without much hassle)

If revenue ever got dire enough…. it’s a demand lever they could pull.
