SO, we are making the drive from Oregon, overall a 2 weekish trip. I recently bought season passes to Six Flags so we will be doing the following:

Six Flags Magic Mountain
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (Vallejo, on our way back north)
We will also be doing 3 days at DL.

My question comes in the form of what else? I am currently looking at the City Pass and wondering if Universal and Sea World are worth it. I don't know about taking a couple days to drive down, get a hotel, visit, drive back are worth it for Seaworld since we will be doing Discovery Kingdom, Thoughts?

The other thing I want to know is Knotts Berry Farm...with the Six Flags stuff we will be doing is Knotts something we should do? What about Knotts vs Universal if I decide to not buy the City Pass?

Too many decisions to make, please advise.

I can't tell you if Universal is worth it, but I can give you a short summary of how it was when I was just there a week ago:

I was actually surprised at the lack of rides. Universal has
-the Simpsons
-the Mummy
-Jurassic Park (water ride)
and
-Transformers

They have a lot of shows which are good:
-Special Effects
-Animal show
-Waterworld (water special effects)
-House of Horror (think thats what its name is)
-Terminator
...might have one or two more I forget

The main draw is the tram tour. The tram includes a couple 'rides' within it. There is the King Kong 3d portion, which is pretty cool. There is the Jaws encounter, and a few smaller situational shows.

I do have to say, Transformers is probably the best ride I have ever been on. Its the same type of ride as Spiderman at Universal Florida if you've ever been on that, but Transformers took it a step above. Personally, Transformers was worth going to Universal to see.

I also suggest you go during a weekday if at all possible, we used the 2 day $77 ticket, and we went Saturday and Tuesday. The difference in crowds was phenomenal, it was almost dead on Tuesday. We even walked onto Transformers twice, as opposed to an hour line on Saturday (which was limited to Annual passholders).

It depends on what you are into.

If you are into rides more than shows then KBF and SFMM are your cup of tea. Although I hear Transformers is very cool and the new Manta coaster at Sea World should be quite unique. If you enjoy just sitting and watching shows then Universal and Sea World are for you. I definitely enjoyed the shows at Sea World more than Universal when I was there 4 years ago.

If you are really into roller coasters then you might want to spend 2 days at SFMM. X2 and Tatsu are unbelievably fun thrill rides. Knotts had a few nice coasters as well (Xcelerator and Silver Bullet) but nothing compared to SFMM. Knotts is probably cleaner, better themed, and more family friendly (except for food prices).

I haven't been to SFDK, so I can't speak for that.

Watch some youtube videos of the rides from each park to help you make up your mind.
