So, lets just say that a person brought several active magic bands with them on the same trip....could said person swap out those bands daily to coordinate with their outfit or is it best to stick with one so you don't confuse the "system"?

:rolleyes1 :confused3 :rotfl2:

asking for a friend.

Yes. But I would make sure that all of the MBs work to open the hotel room door. I did just what you asked about for a trip in September 2019. None of the bands would unlock the door. I got one programmed by the lobby concierge and ended up using only it the entire time.

I was JUST thinking I should make sure that they all opened the door!

and they'd probably be new bands just freshly purchased and not used yet either, if that makes a difference - but I'll make sure I check them!

thanks!

I always use multiple MBs on every trip and never had any problems. Just make sure they all show as active in your account.
and I can do that by going to under my name and seeing all the MBs that are listed there, right? I know I deleted a few older ones since I knew I'd never use them before - and they were like "OG bands"!

I found that they all usually work to open the door or none of them do, I don't think the door issue is with the bands but with your account talking to the door. CCV seems to be the worst for me.

AND if they open the door then I'm safe to assume that they'll work at the park gates? or should I bring an extra band in my bag just in case???

I bring several MB's on each trip. Even some that are five and six years old. Never had an issue with any of them.

I've only ever had 1 issue tapping into the parks and that was a brand new band from Disney that must have been defective as they never were able to get it to work. The park tap stations are independent from the room doors, I've had numerous trips where I used my band to tap into more then one park during the day and then it not work to get into the room that night.

Yeah, I've definitely had door issues but no park issues - and my DH had door issues for a stay at BLT but had used that band for a previous trip.... :confused3

I'm pondering, I mean my friend, is thinking of bringing 2 bands...

because they're both new and so stinking cute!

My daughter not only brings them all, but WEARS them all at once, up and down both arms (we have a LOT of bands)! It does get warm for her, but she gets lots of funny and fun comments. Once the cast member at the EPCOT entrance was so thrilled about it he gave us all an extra fast pass to our ride of choice! We took our picture with him, it was great. She's now 21 and still does it.

edited to add: Yes, we all bring multiple bands and check that they all open the room doors and then use the one that best matches what we're wearing got the day. We did reach a limit (there's a limit to how many you can have active on your family account altogether) so we had to deactivate all our original 'rectangular' pre-puck bands so all our newer ones could work.

NICE!! I do love a good MB and make sure that my nails match my band design!! I might not wear them on both arms but I would definitely wear 2 PLUS my watch!

I'm wanting to bring several previous MBs for my trip in November. Can anyone tell me exactly how to tell which ones would be my newer ones? I didn't really keep up with that.

When I got my bands I named each with my first name and a number (1, 2, 3, etc.), so I can tell which is newest. When I look at my bands on My Disney Experience (scroll down to Manage MagicBands or Cards), it lists them in order, from newest to oldest. Also, the band ID numbers listed (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx) don't appear to follow any logic or sequence.

Not sure if the same is true for everyone, but with all 6 bands listed in reverse chronological order, it's probably not coincidence.

I've never had an old band not work at the park gates. The only problem tends to be for the room door and if that doesn't work then charging also doesn't work. And I've used more than one band on a trip.
