Multiple Experience Pass & Magic Bands

This may be a dumb questions but if you have snagged a Multiple Experience Pass plus you have normal Genie+ reservations on the My Disney App how does the system know which reservation to use if you are checking in at the ride using a Magic Band? I know on your phone you can select which reservation you want to use but how do Magic Band reservations work?

In the past at DLR, you would specify which one on the app before redeeming. At WDW using MB, it often picks the one you didn’t want to use. Sometimes a CM could help but usually not. I would use the app at DLR for this.

I can't answer from personal experience, but there are reports in this forum saying that, at Disneyland, if you have an MEP that can be used on a certain ride and a Genie+ for that ride, the system will use the Genie+, not the MEP. Do a search for "MEP acceleration" in this forum to find discussions of how this can be used to your benefit. As the prior poster mentioned, WDW may be different. I'm unsure how it works if you have multiple MEPs in different tiers and no Genie+ reservation.

If you have a Genie+ reservation and an MEP, scanning the band will use the Genie+, even if the Lightening Lane isn’t in its redemption time period. For example, if you have an LL for Space Mountain for 1-2pm AND you have a top tier MEP that is valid for Space, if you scan your Magic Band at 12:30pm, it will use your Space Mountain LL and leave the MEP in tact.
