Does anyone know if these have any affect on interview and placement. I have done 2 college programs thus far , and I am considering a 3rd since getting a FT position of the strength of my previous experience isnt that feasible. But I was wondering if having done it that many times and being 26 will make them be less interested in my abilities.

Joanna can answer about the multiple CPs ;) and I can answer about the age. At 44, it was no problem, and my managers were grateful for someone with more life experience. I also met another CP who was 49 and a few in their 30s. Age seems to be irrelevant.

From what I can tell it seems to actually be helpful (if anything) if you’ve done the CP before. As far as age goes, I don’t think that would be an issue for Disney. I was 24 for my first CP, and I can’t tell u how excited I was to have a roommate who was older than me (25). I was kind of uncomfortable and concerned that there would be no one near my age, but I got over that pretty quickly. I did get a few comments from people like “Oh, I was already out of college by the time I was that age.” But those were few and far between. I’m 26 also, and would be 27 if I do another CP in Spring ’10. I agree that age is irrelevant. I’d hope it wouldn’t come into the decision – pretty sure that would be illegal ;).

Don't let the age thing get to you.. I have done two FA CP's 02 and 03 and I am heading down at the age of 26 (just turned last week) for a PI. I put off going to college because of finacial reasons. I am sure if all those kids parents knew you get more FASFA money the older you are they would be waiting too. :lmao:
I think being the age that I am and having more work experience then the other canadiates put me at a great advantage for being chosen for the PI.. I also know another person going down for there first CP at 25. There is something to be said for being more mature than your fellow CPers. Not that being younger is a bad thing. But in the future if you wanted to persude something career wise with disney your going to be ahead of the game.

Multiple CPs and age are not problems. I will be doing my 5th CP in Aug, and I can't wait to go back. There were no issues during the interview, so I'm sure you would be fine.

I'm 27 for my first CP. :) I too am a little nervous there won't be anyone my age, but it'll be okay!

i had four people in my building (during my first CP in 2006) who were over the age of 35 (two of the were over the age of 50). people of all ages do the Program. i'm sure you'll find plenty of people your age wandering around.

How ironic I found this. I have been scouring the internet all night and what I was curious about was right here back home on the Dis boards! :lmao:

Going back to school at 35 and was not sure if there was a age cut off for the internship programs.

Just figured they would want the younger ones versus us midlifers.

So you guys are saying Disney wont think I am to old to qualify?

Also being older is it more appropiate to go for a proffesional intership rather than a CP one? Factoring in my previous experience. ( I am aware some PI ask for CP graduates and some dont)

Also does Disney advance its people well when you have have experience and time put in with them? I know a particular company I have been dealing with that is not that way at all and its frustrating. They love outside hires in almost every situation which makes no sense to me.

As long as you are in school, there is no age limit (as long as you are 18+).

Well, I've actually got a few years on you and I made it in :goodvibes I applied for the CP and PI, but the PIs I qualified for were cancelled. Also, some of the PIs do prefer you do the CP first, so you may want to look into whether or not that is a requirement for the one you are interested in. Good luck in school!

This is so strange, I've seen others say things like this, but other than my roommate I never really found anyone older than me. I found a couple of people a year or two younger, but none the same age or older. Where were all of these people when I was there :p?

ya i thought i was bad at 23...but it makes me feel alot better that everyone is accepted no matter the age. its that frickin magic! its my second time....
and im still looking for roomies
its hard to find boys over 21 going into disney housing....
rock on, and stay classy!

Haha, I think they were hiding! I didn't have anyone older than 21 in my own apartment, but people were not afraid to tell you how old they were. But, think about how many people are doing the Program at one time. To meet someone your exact age without asking everyone you run across might be a bit difficult.

True, in fact I'm pretty sure most people assumed I was about 19 before I told them otherwise - at which point they were pretty shocked. People still tend to think I'm only about 20 just by looking at me. I guess I had just hoped to stumble across just a few people older than me so I wouldn't feel like everyone's mom :p.

Funny, I get the same thing all the time about age. I actually got stoped by a cop while out on a patio bar in Cleveland. The cop thought I was underage soliciting beer. He questioned everything on my DL even asked what sign was. I was like ahh trying to be tricky and throw me. It was embarrassing cause it was some athletes, tour staff, build crew everyone out there, and me with a cop getting questioned for twenty minutes.
He thought I was 19 and I am 25. But I am getting use to it which is sad.

Oh, yeah! I had a few CPs in shock that I had kids their age. LOVE it!

My mom still has people asking her: "You have kids HOW old?" And she wasn't exceptionally young when she had us either, and once they hear she has grandchildren - they're completely surprised (so I guess looking young runs in the family)! I know she loves it, and I don't doubt I will some day too (as everyone keeps telling me ;) ). But for now, it's just annoying :p I mean who wants to look 16 when they are 26, I'd be happy if I looked my age right about now ;)

OT, but funny story about age...when I was 12, I looked 18, but then I kind of 'stuck' there for awhile. I was 8 mos pregnant on my 21st birthday, but intent on going and buying a bottle of wine with my new legal age. I arrived at the checkout, only to be scanned and told the price WITHOUT asking for my ID. I burst into tears (pregnancy hormones and all ;) ) and the clerk was whaaaa :confused3 I said, "You didn't CARD me!" (boo-hoo, boo-hoo). He was all flustered and like, OK, let me see your ID. I said (and I kid you not), "No. Forget it, it's too late." He stood there with his jaw dropped while I basically threw the money at him for the wine, snatched it up, and stomped out of the store. In hindsight it was :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: but at the time, not so much.
