Our three families (7 adults and 4 children) will be traveling together to WDW in March. Four people (2 Adult and 2 Child) have AP’s and mostly everyone else has AAA. A lot of questions came up when we started looking at some of our resort options and pricing. Everyone agreed that we all want to stay onsite at the same resort. We thought that if we booked the rooms with AAA, then hope for the AP discount, that would be the way to go, but are not sure. Would this be the most cost effective resort option for our group? Thanks.

That's a good way to at least make sure you have a place reserved to stay when you get there, then if AP rates come out that's just a bonus! Also, you can book 2 rooms with an AP rate. Didn't know how many you might need. Plus, there's always a possibility of a room only discount of another type. (Never a guarantee of discounts though.)
What type of passes are the rest of the party getting?

Have fun!

Thanks, snyderla. We are trying to exhaust all options. It's easy planning for one family, but three gets involved (but just as fun). The other possibility was to look into a Villa or Suite in ether OKW or BCV. Does anyone know if AP rates are offered at these resorts? Thanks.

I have 5 families going in August and we all have different room rates. My dh and I have AP's, his dad and brother have AAA package, my Mom and Dad have AAA room only rate, my sister and her family have the 7 for 5 deal. The only problem that we've run into is this: everyone booked their own except my FIL who booked through a travel agent at AAA. He can't touch his reservation to make changes, check on anything, etc. His agent has to do it. You can make reservations with the AAA rate without going through an agent, it's much easier.

HI. I think you qualify for a grand gathering. I don't think you get special rates, but you do get acces to awesome things and I think help with priority seatings, etc. I would book room only rates with the AAA discount then keep an eye out for a better deal. You can change your reservations without much difficulty. For the trip we leave on in four days, I changed my reservation 5 times!! I also wouldn't use a TA. I'll neve use one again for a WDW trip. Too restrictive.
have a great time!

I think you can book three rooms with the AP. The rooms would all have to be in that person's name and they would have to pay all the deposit and be there at check-in. You will probably save the most this way and all be able to stay somewhere nice, Have fun!
