Multi-day ticket and not enough reservations after first use

I'm wondering if there is any policy to extend validity beyond 13 days if, for example a 5 day park hopper only has 3 days of reservations available after first use.

If I buy a 5 day hopper today and use it tomorrow for first day, there are only 4 days total with availability in the following 13 days. Is this just a tough luck situation?

I haven’t looked at the DL site but on WDW site they have big warning to check availability before buying tickets.

I cannot say for sure but they might refund the the unusable days at GS?

This is why they say to check availability before buying. Buy a 4-day, book reservations. They’ll let you upgrade to a 5-day if another day becomes available before you use your 4th day.

I'm concerned about this as well. My 4 day park hopper tickets were purchased in Jan 2020 for a March 2020 trip, and I'm worried about making reservations when we finally get back to the park. We'll be flying in so we can't extend our trip and what if we can't get reservations? It's stressing me out! (But, full disclosure, many things stress me out.)

I'm planning to book 60 days out, but it'll be a busy time so I'm concerned that we might not get all four days. Our work/school schedules would make it difficult to find another time to visit, though, so I'm really hoping it works out!

You'll get the days if you book them as soon as they come available.

Absolutely. Even 4th of July was easy to book as it became available.

That's exactly when we are going and all days (Jul 2-5) are still available.
