MSEP to end Oct. 9 - Parade moves to Disneyland for a "limited time"

I was just going to write that about the "hands" doing different things LOL. I think it's pointless to try to look at different things across the entire resort and make sense of it. Like yesterday, I was saying to myself, why did they just start that Tony's package if they knew the parade was ending so soon? Now they have to call everyone who has one of those packages? What a waste of time and resources is that? It makes no sense because it makes no sense. It almost feels like no one is in charge sometimes.

I still think it was an operational test for whatever is coming next. When the next parade starts it will hit high demand from day 1, so they won't be able to test it then.

PTN is the new and improved one. Trust me, I know, because I saw it three times at Disneyland.

Oh, I believe it...but they said PTN was not coming to WDW, at least as of now. Maybe they have something different planned for WDW, but I just feel that they needed to announce it so that this doesn't feel like a cut.

I will get to see it myself before it goes on hiatus at DL in a little over a week! :hyper:

That's a good point. I think a lot of things are tests now.

Not saying you are wrong, but that would be a most epic case of corporate obliviousness.
I also wonder if the abruptness came because performer contracts were supposedly up and rather than renegotiate for another year, they chose the time to call it quits. But you'd think they would plan ahead?

Same here. This is exactly me too. It was a very crappy thing to do to give only two months notice. At this point its quite difficult to change my plans...esp since everything is paid for AND I also purchased my MNSSHP ticket. I arrive on Oct.12, so im missing msep by 3 days! so bummed out about that.
wow....I am bummed because I am missing it by 15 days, 3 days would have REALLY kill me!

MSEP CMs are hourly employees so they don't have contracts. For the part-time CMs who performed in MSEP, in 10 weeks their income will vanish.

Sad for guests and CMs alike.

I never understand why people feel the need to mock and ridicule others. For many, this planned trip is a once in a lifetime, long planned out dream come true. Or for others, these parades etc hold memories or sentimental value that they look forward to revisiting. You may not feel this way about MSEP, or any of the other cutbacks, but it is disrespectful to be insulting to those who do.
I agree. These days, more and more people care only about themselves and the power of empathy seems to have almost disappeared. If it does not bother THEM, then you are made out to be a fool because it bothers you. I have seen several people posting ridiculous things about others who are disappointed about the MSEP leaving, and many posting such crap are millennials. However, wait 15 years, when millennials grow up (if ever) and see THEIR nostalgia taken away in favor of the new generation.....karma.....

I am not sure if performers are hour employees, which is who I was referring to. I think they are under contract, but I could be wrong. I can check with a CM friend who works at Disney Animation in Los Angeles, but she will probably be thrilled the MSEP is coming her way!

My CM friend, who I often reference, is in entertainment and MSEP is one of the parades and shows in which she performs. Hourly is confirmed - a contract is only for equity performers who sing, dance, or act in a scripted stage show.

Yes I know that. I was referring to the every non-party night.
I guess those nights will be empty save, for the WISHES. Ugh....I will sure feel the emptiness, remembering that the MSEP was just strolling through Main Street a couple of weeks before I got there. The whole think just stinks. The CM I spoke with said there were no plans for replacement. That does not mean there aren't any, but not that she knew. I'll have to drown my sorrows riding Space Mountain 10 times in a row.

I wonder if any of them knew this was coming? Will they be reassigned or flat out of a job?

The performers are character performers and not under a contract that expires.

They are character/parade performers so they will just be scheduled elsewhere in the department. Probably minimal hours, though.

I know in food and beverage, if your restaurant closes or goes down for rehab, you get reassigned. I don't know if entertainment is the same though. Again, in F&B if you're full time you have to work 32 hours a week to keep your status, so if that's the case across the board they will be reassigned with full time hours.

HERE IT IS: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...eads-to-disneyland-resort-for-a-limited-time/

MSEP will end its run on October 9, moving to DLR for a "limited time". No word on when that will start. Keep in mind, it was supposed to be at WDW for a limited time as well. No word on if Paint the Night will be moving to WDW, as it ends its DLR run on September 5.

Thoughts?
I already said what I think about this upthread, but I wanted to stop by again and let you know that your thread was featured in today's installment of the DIS Daily Fix! :cool1:

Thanks!
