Hello,

I just realized something!!!! Earlier when I was talking to MS booking my one bedroom, prefered view at BWV I asked for a water view and the woman told me that requests are honored based on ressie "seniority".

Does that mean that they have changed their policy? I wonder?????

What do you guys think?

Frank

Ressie "seniority" - I would take this to mean that the person who makes their reservation at 11 months out would be first to get their requests - as it should be, IMHO.

I agree that "seniority" is the way it should be. I was reading on this board that DVC was honoring requests "first come first serve".

I was just wondering if the policy has changed recently?

According to the posts, OKW and BCV were the only DVC resorts that were reported to be testing a policy of "first to arrive on check in day, first to get requests".

No one has reported that either VWL or BWV has been using that method. Since your ressie is at BWV, I think it is safe to assume that the room assigners are still using the date the reservation was made to grant requests. (At least I hope so. BWV is my home resort and I do not like the new method at all)!

Thanks for clearing this up for me CarolMN, I also don't like the new policy and I hope they get rid of it at OKW.

Thanks again

Frank

Agreed.
While checking in on our Sept trip, we asked the Cast Member at VWL for non-smoking ect..., and she said "your room was already assigned a couple of days ago". I was expecting it to be first come, first serve after reading the threads here, but I was pleasantly surprised!

Common sense would dictate that there is some variability here. If they are not close to being full, they could preassign the ones with difficult or specific requests and then just assign the ones with more common requests at checkin. Things like a general area, smoking vs none, certain floor should not be difficult to handle if the resort is less than around 75-80% full in the room type one needs. There's no way they could change to just first come first serve only, it doesn't make any sense.
