MS says you can not add DDP for one night?

I thought that I had read on here that someone had recently added the DDP for his in-laws one night. We have the same situation, that my parents will be joining us for the first night but are leaving after that time. However, when I went to add them MS said that I couldn't add them for just one night, there's a 2 night minimum? This is news to me, has anyone else had any experience with this? Is that correct or should I try to call again.

Do they have their own room? They should be able to add it if their resevation is only for 1 night.

If you have one reservation (one resort, one size villa), you must add the dining plan for the entire length of stay. If they have their own reservation through DVC, they can add it for their length of stay.

But if they are staying with you, you can't add if for one night they are there. Unless you are moving to a different villa the next day.

If they have a reservation for a 1 night stay, then they should be able to add the ddp. At least you always could. So the question would be, do they have their own room, with their own reservation? Or, are they sharing your room which is not a one night reservation. If it's the second choice, then no you can not add ddp for one night for a multiple night reservation.

There was a mention from another dis'er that "segmented" may still be possible if there is an occupant addition/removal. But I guess they only allow these occupant segments in the minimum of 2 day blocks.

So I guess if you want, put the relative on your reservation for 2 days and book a signature?

We are doing a split stay, 2 nights OKW, 2 nights BCV. They will be there the 2 nd night (in our room) at OKW. So they do not have their own room. I did the math and I don't think that it will really save them that much to do the DDP anyways. They are not dessert people and we are doing WCC for dinner that night. I will not be getting the skillet but I'm sure they will be so I guess we could use the plan to buy the 2 most expensive entrees and then they can pay OOP for the 2 cheapest.

Good idea about the signature but we would like to eat with them and then that would leave us with 1 less TS meal the next day...so good in theory but just doesn't work for us.

Since your OKW reservation is 2 nights, that is the reason that MS told you you had to do 2 night minimum.

They can add the DDP to reservations that are at different resorts but you can not split it between nights at the same resort if you are staying in the same room.
