Mrs. Darling's June 2010 Accidental PTR: Pirates and Harry Potter 6/30 TR Link posted

So here are my current ADR's. These have changed tons of times, but I feel good about the current plans so we may just stick with it. We are on the regular dining plan and if we keep all these ADRs we'll have to pay for the last 2 OOP, but I'm OK with that. Most of these places are new to us. I wanted to try new places on this trip. So here they are . . .

Thursday (arrival day): Ohana dinner. This seems to be a place people either love or hate. I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts on it.

We have to go here twice this year. It is DH's favorite restaurant in the whole world, not just Disney World!

Friday: 1900 Park Fare Dinner. We had Garden Grill this night for a long time, but we've been there the last 2 trips and I wanted to try something new. Lots of bad food reviews, but everyone loves the step sisters so I figure we'll give it a try. Any opinions?

We're trying it out, too. Mostly for the characters, I must say!

Saturday: Crystal Palace Lunch. We've been here before, but only for breakfast. So this is kind of like trying something new. Both boys requested it.

We've done dinner, and I imagine lunch would be similar. It is fine, nothing overly special sticks out, but again, characters!

Sunday: Ohana Breakfast. Really looking forward to this. Love the pre plated thing so I don't have to haul the boys to the buffet. Plus the boys will love the characters (especially Stitch.)

BTDT, going back! The family style is great, characters and you get to SIT! They have little parade things, the girls really liked it!

Coral Reef Dinner. Another one that gets mixed reviews. I figure the boys will like the setting. Any opinions on this?

We've done lunch here. DH got the blackened catfish - DON'T! It was not good. The kids pizzas are HORRIBLE!!!!!! I felt badly, because my lunch rocked, and it was the only one! I had read the blackened catfish was really good, so I talked him into ordering it. I had the grilled mahi mahi, it was fabulous. I will also say that if your kids like the light up drinks, I think Hook is on the boys, we had tink, it's a great place for them since it is fairly dark. It is worth it to tell them it's your first time, and ask for a table by the tank!

Monday: Olivia's Dinner. This is at our resort and many say it is a hidden gem so we shall see

Tuesday: Donald's Safari Breakfast. We've done this one before and enjoyed it. I think the characters are so cute in their Safari outfits.:cutie: This is the most likely to get dropped, but I love the juice they serve so we shall see.

We really like this breakfast. Neat ambiance, great JUICE!, different items. I would keep it.

50's Primetime Dinner. This looks like fun. Anyone have thoughts on it?
never been here!

Wednesday: The Plaza. Wendy and I have been here before and we love it. In fact, this was the place she requested. Simple but tasty food and a great view of the Castle. What more do you need?

Going this time, can't wait to try it out!

So give me all of your thought and opinions. I'd love to hear them!

Two months! :woohoo::cheer2::dance3::cool1::banana:

That is soooooooo sweet with Minnie and Wendy. What a special moment! She was so lucky!!!
The Minnie House Tour was totally unexpected which made it even better! (Though there was a split second crazy planning me thought Oh No! This will make the Princess line longer:rotfl:)

WOOO for 2 months!
And today my ticker says 1 month plus some other stuff! Gotta love it!

Great photos Jenny!!!!:goodvibes

What a special moment Wendy had with Minnie! I can see why you became a devoted fan on that trip!

What a great idea to do something special with each of your kids on the trip. I am sure you and John had a blast together at the MNSSHP!:)

I have had plenty of special moments in WDW with just my DD, but none yet with my son...maybe this trip I might steal some one-on-one time with him.

And thanks for the photopass tip! I hadn't heard of the offer, and still haven't received an email from them for our upcoming trip. Can't imagine why they closed that offer down in the 1st place.:confused3
Those one on one moments with the kids at Disney are just great! They love them and I love them. Plus they give me an excuse to spend more time in the parks and DH an excuse to leave the parks with the other kids:laughing: Make sure you order the CD before your trip. The rumor is that you can only the discount on pictures taken after your order date.

:dance3::cheer2::cheer2::cool1:
Two Months!!!!!!

I love your character pictures! The P & P party sounds really fun!! I am excited that your trip is getting closer!
I'm sad they discontinued the P & P party. It was a fun one! Not very crowded at all (which is probably why they quit doing it.)

Thanks for your thoughts. I'll have to remember not to get the catfish at Coral Reef and go for the Mahi Mahi instead. I generally like Mahi Mahi better anyway! And I actually switched 1900 Park Fare back to Garden Grill. My boys just love Garden Grill and it is one of those sit down character meals which I think will be much more pleasant with the boys plus then we can maybe sneak in a few Epcot rides that evening. I've had that Tusker House juice before. Yum!!! I'd heard they have the same juice at Ohana breakfast. Is that true?

Why didn't you tell me you had a PTR going??? I just noticed the link in your siggy this morning.

Oops!:confused3 This PTR just kind of started out on a whim one day and I wasn't sure how committed I was to it so I didn't do much recruiting. I think I stuck a link at the end of my January half trippie and that was it. But it's taken off and come together quite nicely. And happy day cause now you're here too!:cool1:

Ahhhhhh. Once a TR is finished, I unsubscribe since I follow so many. That explains why I didn't see your link.

I'm glad I'm here too! And here's a little dance for 2 months!

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

:yay: two month dance

How sweet that Minnie took Wendy on her own private tour, what great photos too. Some lovely memories :goodvibes

Hooray for 2 months! Awesome!
I love, love, love the pics! You've had some special Disney moments for sure!

Hello! I have been able to catch up over the last few days--we were out of town and I just am getting a chance to make it back around. I have read lots of good things about the autotrain. We looked into it but it is not feasible were we leave.

pin trading: it is something I have been debating doing with my DD. I think she would like collecting them--she loves things collecting other things already so this seems right up her alley. I will have to look at the sites you mentioned--seems like mousepinsonline is better? They are all pins that are eligible to be traded in Disney right?

:yay: for more trips! How exciting to be going down so the whole family can participate in the runs! :goodvibes:

Your trip plans look great!

Did your daughter enjoy BBB? I am looking forward to taking DD to it for the first time in September.

party: 2 months left to go!! (well less than that now)!! :woohoo:

YAY!! for 2 months!!party:

Oh... and those character pictures are adorable especially the ones of Wendy and Minnie!!!:lovestruc

Great pictures! Oh, the whole Minnie experience....I think I would have fallen over! Those are the things that make Disney SOOOOO awesome!

Thanks, too, for the heads up on Photopass! We were going to do it anyway, because even $150 or whatever it was split up between the six rooms we have in our party was do-able, but this is even better!

I'll do that two-month dance with you...I love watching my ticker travel!

Thanks to all of you for joining in the 2 month dance party! It was awesome!

The Auto Train is a great option if you live in the area, but there isn't a big advantage if you have to actually drive to the auto train. So we are really lucky it is so close.
I liked the pins we got from mousepinsonline better. I think Pin Finder is on the west coast so lots of the pins from them were themed to Disneyland. And we had no trouble trading the pins.
My DD loved BBB. I recommend it for any little girl, but it ain't cheap. Eventually I'll get around to posting pictures of it. It's toward the end of the 2008 trip so it might take me a little bit:rolleyes1

I was pretty excited about the whole Minnie thing! I overplan so much that not much happens at Disney that I'm not expecting, but this was a great surprise. And I'm glad I could help with the Photopass tip. Every dollar saved is more dollars in the Dole Whip Fund:cool1:

So how about we get to the plans for Day 6. This is our Epcot morning. We'll be up early, get a quick breakfast in the room and be at the gates of Epcot in time for rope drop. I think we'll drive over instead of take the bus. We'll go with the rest of the crowd to Soarin where we will pick up some fastpasses. Then we'll trot over to the other side of Future World and take a ride on Test Track. Then we're going to try a new ride. Mission Space. We're sticking with the green side though. Both Michael and I have motion sickness issues:sick: I figure this will bring us to around 10:00 when we plan to meet up with the Disney Family:cool1: At this point we are pretty flexible. Maybe Nemo, maybe the Characters, maybe Spaceship Earth, maybe Figment, maybe Innoventions. (Obviously I'm pretty up in the air). If you're out there Liz what are you thinking? Then we'll do lunch at Sunshine Seasons. We'll probably use those Soarin fastpasses after lunch and maybe do some of those things mentioned above. Early afternoon we'll head back to the hotel for an afternoon swim break with the Disney Family. Then our evening is pretty flexible. I have an ADR at Olivia's (at OKW) this evening. But I'm thinking maybe we'll want to head back to Epcot and use fastpasses we collected earlier in the day. Then we would miss Olivia's and I really want to try it at some point. What do you guys think? Should I stick with Olivia's or head back for an Epcot evening?

I've never been to Olivia's, so I can't speak to that. However, I am voting for heading back to Epcot. I really like the parks in the evenings. I want to ride test track after dark.:wizard: i think that would be neat.

Love the plan so far.

Could you move Olivia's up or back to accommodate more time in Epcot? Also, I noticed that you are planning on using your Soarin' fastpasses after you meet up with Liz and her family--they may or may not have fastpasses. Will this be an issue?

Woo, you are braver than me, I am scared to try M:S even though part of me really wants to. I just can't bring myself to do it.

My vote is to spend the evening in Epcot.
We-DS and i did Mission Space(orange side) and loved it. It wasn't as bad as i thought i just concentrated on my 'job' and stared straight ahead.

I have heard good reviews of Olivia's. I might be tempted to try to go to Olivia's early and do both (if possible). I just love Illuminations. Your plan for the day looks great!:goodvibes

Would you eat at Epcot instead of Olivia's, CS or TS? I would also vote going back to Epcot, only because riding TT in the dark would be cool :)
