Day 5 sound lovely and relaxing. Good choices for restaurants too :thumbsup2

Day 5 sounds very relaxing. Old Key West does look nice and laid back, I can't wait to hear how you like it and see pics. And how fun that you get to hang out with Liz and her boys again! I can see both of you are raising them right so when they are grown they can work to pay for THEIR wives and kids to go to Disney! :lmao:
It is pretty funny that this trip ended up with both Liz and I without the DH's. Not intentional just kind of happened, but it will be fun! Oh and hopefully you're right. Kids learn best by example;)

oh my gosh that cracked me up:rotfl: I never thought of it like that, soooo funny. :rotfl:
We really are great moms!

I love setting aside a day to relax and experience the resort. Disney resorts are so awesome they are an attraction all by themselves. We are planning having a day to explore some resorts we have never been to. O'hana's breakfast sounds really good. I have read a lot of good reviews.:thumbsup2
That is one of the nice things about going more often. I don't feel a rush to be in the parks every minute and can enjoy the resorts we are staying the big bucks to stay at:cool1:

We've never eaten breakfast at O'hana but that sounds tempting!

Amanda
I'll make sure to come back with a detailed report:goodvibes

Sounds like a great, relaxing day! We're hoping for some of that on this trip, too!:cloud9:
Relaxing is sometimes hard to do at Disney World, but I'm determined to do it this trip:goodvibes

Sounds like a great, relaxing day at OWK!:cloud9:

We will also be trying both O'Hanas for the 1st time for both breakfast and dinner this trip. And Coral Reef. I have always been a Kona girl myself, but after at least 10 breakfasts in the place I know I have to strike out on new adventures.:rotfl:

Holy moly! Did I catch that right? Is Liz is embarking on a solo trip to WDW with 4 boys??!! :worship: Well, if she can do that, I certainly can travel solo with the 2 of mine. Definitely keeping that in mind in the event DH doesn't turn around to Disney on our upcoming trip!;)
That is so funny we will both be trying Ohana lunch and dinner and Coral Reef for the first time. Did we have some sort of synchronized mind thing going on during planning:hippie: Hopefully we both bring back great reports. And you're right about Liz taking a solo trip with her 4 boys. She's a brave soul, but she is a Disney veteran so she can definitely handle it. The Lost Boys are good kids too. They are just a little bit like those movie characters of the same name.;) I'm pretty sure she is planning on taking it easy and saving some of the big rides for when her DH gets there. Which works for me because that means more potential hanging out at the pool time with us:cool1:

I think this will be a great day! And good food too:)

Well I may be NUTS for doing it though!! :scared: LOL We shall see!

We are raising them right! :earboy2:

I am brave and probably crazy. Hopefully all of my WDW experience has prepared me for this! It'll be a challenge at times! I will be taking it easy when I'm on my own with them. No long days in the parks that is for sure. And plenty of sleep will be happening, I will need it!

Day 5 sounds great! Since we are DVC members we are trying to stay at all of the DVC resorts...we haven't yet made it to Old Key West but we did get over there on our trip just to check it out.

At least we will be there together:goodvibes (for a few days anyway).

I've never even stepped foot on Old Key West property so hopefully we like it too. I can't imagine we wouldn't. We're at Disney World. I would like it if it was a box! Yes, I definitely drink the Kool Aid:laughing:

Yeah, yeah. That's what she says now. Just wait til she and her boys hit the parks.:rotfl:

Just found your pre trip report
i loved the pictures of the princess all 5 of them-a very special photo because i have never all 4 of them at once
how did you feel touring at 7 months--asking cause we are taking our DD-23 and she will be almost 7 months when we go
your plans sound great

That was an incredible moment with all of the princesses! Our timing was just perfect. I don't think that could happen again though. This was back when the Princesses were just starting to hit the big time so it was easier! Touring at 7 months pregnant wasn't ideal, but I was in Disney so I wasn't complaining! Just tell your DD to drink lots of water and don't be afraid to take breaks. It was tiring, but I wouldn't hesitate to do it again (though I'm not planning on ever being pregnant again).:rolleyes1

More Darling Family Disney Memories coming right up, but first I want to report some exciting news:
Photopass pre-order is once again open to all:cool1: Here is the link Photopass preorder This is good news for me. Since I'm renting points Disney Destinations would not have sent me the e-mail for the discount and I'm not sure it would have worked for me to call DVC directly and ask for it. So now I don't have to worry about it. I can pre order it! And those of you that read last summer's trip report know how I feel about photopass:lovestruc Now I can definitely plan on using it this summer. Happy day at the Darling household:woohoo:

So on to our January 2008 trip. This trip came about because of some weird school scheduling that gave my kids an entire week of school with only 2 half days. So we could go for a week at the end of January (one of the slowest times) and they would only miss 2 half days of school. Could not pass up that opportunity. This is the first trip where we used photopass extensively as well. Plus it was our longest trip to date at 8 days. Thus I will have to drag the memories over several posts. Hope you don't tire of our faces:rolleyes1 Here are a few highlights from the first few days.

We stayed at Shades of Green. First destination after check in was the Magic Kingdom of course!

That evening we ate at Liberty Tree Tavern. This was when the characters were still there.

The next day we took a tour of All Star Movies. The boys were really into Toy Story at the time.

On Day 3 we headed over to what I think was still MGM.

image022.jpg

This was pre Toy Story Mania so first stop was to see the Power Rangers.

It was cute watching the Red Ranger trying to pose Michael.

Then we saw Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable (I don't think these two are available anymore).

And there is much more to come, but that is all for this installment of Darling Family Disney Memories.:goodvibes

Love all the memories J! :)

you could be right! :rotfl:

Thanks! And with the photopass news that means I'll be getting the CD again this year so feel free to take all the photopass pictures you want and I'll add your cards to my CD like last year. Plus we may end up with some pictures of all those boys together:goodvibes

Love the pics!
We did photopass for our May trip and loved it! We had them take as many photopass pics as possible. We were able to use one for our holiday card. For the shorter trips we haven't done it because we wouldn't have gotten enough pics to be worth it.

Amanda

:yay: for ordering the PP and great flashback pics :goodvibes
You were the one that gave me the heads up on the PP though I haven't actually ordered it yet. Though I'll do it real soon.

I think PP is so worth it especially if you do lots of character visits like we do. I don't even take my own pictures with the characters anymore. I just tell the PP guy to snap away. It is so nice to be able to watch the character interaction not through the lens of a camera:cool1:

Ok. It is time for the
2 MONTH DANCE party::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
Anyone want to join in?

And to go along with it another installment in Darling Family Disney Memories January 2008

Before we left MGM we stopped by for a quick visit with some old friends.

John and I had a special night out at the Pirate & Princess Party. During trip planning I came up with this idea so that John wouldn't feel bad because I was planning a night out with Wendy at CRT. Really it was just a good way to talk DH into me going to the party;) It was a great night. Really uncrowded. At one point we were on a nearly deserted Main Street. The pirate music was playing and there were skulls and crossbones reflected on the buildings. Pretty cool. The fireworks were also absolutely awesome! And rumor is that this summer's fireworks are going to be the Pirate and Princess Party fireworks so I'm excited about that! Here are some photo highlights;):

The next morning we were up bright and early to open the MK. We made rope drop and headed to Fantasyland which we breezed through.

And next comes one of those once in a lifetime moments. We'd finished up Fantasyland and headed over to Toontown rope drop. This was pre-fairies so it wasn't as crowded as it is now days. They dropped the rope and we headed for the princesses. As we walked by Minnie's place she walked right out the front door and up to Wendy. She grabbed her hand and took her on a private tour of her house. What a great moment:wizard: And a Photopass photog followed her around and snapped pictures of the whole thing. Here are a few of them:

Check out me in the background gleefully trying to tell DH and the boys where we were:laughing:

And that is the moment that Wendy and Minnie went from being casual friends to BFFs. And Disney got me until the day that I die;)

Two months! :woohoo::cheer2::dance3::cool1::banana:

That is soooooooo sweet with Minnie and Wendy. What a special moment! She was so lucky!!!

Great photos Jenny!!!!:goodvibes

What a special moment Wendy had with Minnie! I can see why you became a devoted fan on that trip!

What a great idea to do something special with each of your kids on the trip. I am sure you and John had a blast together at the MNSSHP!:)

I have had plenty of special moments in WDW with just my DD, but none yet with my son...maybe this trip I might steal some one-on-one time with him.

And thanks for the photopass tip! I hadn't heard of the offer, and still haven't received an email from them for our upcoming trip. Can't imagine why they closed that offer down in the 1st place.:confused3
