I'd love some people's input on this one, as I'm having trouble making up my mind. It's just me and me then-almost-7 year old DS, and we just want a place where we can play in the water, and I can sit on the beach peacefully, and it's not horribly overcrowded or noisy. And we're not looking at a whole day, just a few hours. Which place do you think would be better for us?

Thanks so much!

Can't really give you much of an opinion since
we only visited Mr. Sanchos. Were on the 8/17
cruise and had no plans for Cozumel except
the beach. Asked many shore excursion people
on the Disney ship and also many of the crew
and none of them heard of Mr. Sanchos. OK,
we get a cab and ask to be taken to
San Francisco Beach, on recommendation of
shore excursion person. When we were in
the cab, our driver said, why not Mr. Sanchos.
OK, finally someone knows about Mr. Sanchos.
Well, I don't know if I would do it right away
again. Very, very crowded with Carnival cruise
passengers (3 Carnival cruise ships, 1 RCL ship
and Celebrity also in Cozumel at the time).
Of course, we only arrived at around 1:30 in
the afternoon and we were also insulted by one
of the servers that we sat at a table and only
ordered sodas, reminding us that it was a
restaurant. Next time, Playa de Sol.

We had the exact opposite experience at Mr Sanchos beach on the 7/6 cruise. It wasn't too crowded, we arrived at 11am and left about 2pm. Our server couldn't have been nicer and we just started off with sodas, went into the water, came back for beers, back in the water and then had lunch. We found it to be very clean - even the toilets and we are VERY fussy!

PS There is even a coupon somewhere for free icecream or margaritas with a food order. I think it is
www.mrsanchos.com
but I will check.

I found discounted coupons on www.playasol.com.mx for 15% off. Their basic package is $6. this includes entrance into the park. Then they have a Fiesta Package which includes drinks for $25.. Then an all inclusive package which includes the buffet that's $35..
We have a 5 1/2 yr old DD who will not eat or drink $35. worth not sure DH and I will either. I understand that Mr. Sanchos offers free admission and you pay as you go. But does it have all the stuff that Playasol has to offer? Both places cost $30. a cab ride one way?

Mr Sanchos is free and it cost us $15 each way for the taxi, that was per cab and not per person. Playa del Sol probably has more to do but we heard it was much more crowded. Mr Sanchos had a trampoline in the water and I think banana boat rides but check out the web site for more details. We felt perfectly safe there as we did everywhere in Cozumel.
