I know some info on these 2 is here somewhere, but since searching is disabled for now, I'll have to ask again.
I had been thinking Mr. Sanchos, but now I read one or 2 things on another thread that didn't sound so good. We will have my parents with me (in their 60's) and our kids (10, 7, 4). Is Mr. Sanchos too much of a party place?? How is Playa Sol? I haven't read much about that. Can someone tell me about their experience at Playa del Sol? And also - do they have a website I can look at??
thanks!

We were at Mr. Sanchos (www.mrsanchos.com) in December while on the 7 day western.

It was me, DH, DD15, DD13, DS11, DS7. We had an awsome time... very relaxed place as far as we were concerned. I didn't really view it as a Party place... i suppose it could get like that... but we are not partyers and didn't feel like it was a party place.

We had some lunch and did some swimming and shopping... just relaxed...

The people there are very nice. One caution... don't do any hair braiding here... they are lots cheeper than Castaway Cay.. but you get what you pay for... not tight braids and don't stay in...

We rented a Jeep from WWW.cozumelinsider.com for $45 a day and drove to Mr. Sanchos for the day...that way we could do a little shopping and exploring when we were done without having to pay for a taxi again..

I think the hair braiders at Castaway Cay have been asked to not braid tightly.
A friend of mine said that tight braids give people headaches.
Someone on the DIS said that their little girl was very upset when she felt that discomfort. The Mom even had to give the kid tylenol and use a cold compress on her head it was red from the hair being pulled.
If the braids are loose they are easier to remove. My friend had hers done in Dominican Republic, they were very tight, gave her headaches and it was very uncomfortable to get the braids undone.
All this and, since I do not look good with my hair pulled back tightly, I decided not to try any braiding.

If the braids are not tight they do not stay in. My girls have had their hair braided twice now on Castaway Cay and once in Mexico. Never once did they have headaches, they said it may have been a bit uncomfortable when they were being done... but nothing they couldn't handle. Also there were 6 others on this last cruise with us that ranged from 7 years old up to 17 years old. They all had tight braids and loved them... no one complained of headaches.

Silly to spend $50 or so and not have them last for more than a few days...

Just my opinion... :)
