Starting to plan our Cozumel day.....

Which beach is better overall Mr. Sanchos or Paradise Beach? We will be DH, me, DD6 & DS5. Both children are very comfortable in the water and can swim.

Does beach chairs go quickly? What time should we plan on going there to get a great spot on the beach? Is there better snorkeling at one than the other?

Is it true that admission is free for both places?

Any suggestions and/or comments would be appreciated.

Paradise beach, check out cozumel-beach.com free to enter free trampoline, free iceberg, free kayaks etc, showers , restaurant and great reviews.

Enjoy

And Mr. Sanchos is www.mrsanchos.com

I think I read someone said that Paradise beach is all rocky in the water. Is this true? Also, is Mr. Sanchos rocky?

Thanks

Mr. Sanchos is definately not rocky..beautiful white sand and calm waters. Perfect place to spend a day.

We cruised mid september..there were plenty of chairs/tables available. We went first thing..when the ship docked..had lunch..spent a few hours then headed back to town to check out some shopping.

Paradise Beach is not rocky either; there are some rocks when you enter the beach at the far end (away from the iceberg and trampoline) but otherwise, it is sandy.

Do they charge entrance fees for Mr. Sancho's? Paradise Beach does not charge entrance fees. I have also heard that the food is better at Paradise Beach (haven't been to Mr. Sancho's, only Paradise Beach). There are plenty of comfortable lounge chairs, umbrellas, small tables right on the beach. Food is not expensive (I paid $32 for a huge hamburger, fries, spicy chicken wrap, more fries, nachos and salsa and 3 Cokes, which was more than enough for 3 hungry adults!) and portions are very generous. Changerooms and washrooms are VERY clean. Bar is beautiful and spacious.

I've seen many, many posts stating that Paradise Beach was the highlight of people's trips! And when I went in April, I could see why. Beach was beautiful, no entrance fees, comfortable chairs, very nice people; it was wonderful.

Glad Paradise Beach is sandy. I thought I read someone saying it was rocky.

We went to Mr. Sanchos last year in May. It was GREAT !! I would highly recommend it. Beach access is free.

Be sure and get one of those pineapple drinks. They will give you a whole hollowed out pineapple. It makes for a GREAT picture.

I loved Paradise Beach!!! We went in January and had a wonderful time. Our cab driver gave us a coupon for 2 for 1 drinks and we also ate lunch there. They will bring you a menu to your lounge chair and bring the food to you. What more could you ask for? It is free to use the amenities they just expect you to spend some money on food and drinks. We spent around $30.00 for the day and we both ate and had drinks. I can't wait to go back again.

Thanks again to all that replied.

I also saw another thread on a website for cruisecritic.com. After reading discussions on those boards, it looks like it is going to be Paradise Beach.

It looks positively wonderful and I cannot wait. My children will absolutely love it!!! I am not going to tell my husband anything about it because he informed me this past weekend that I am getting very obsessive about planning this trip and he does not want to wish the summer away. Can you believe it? If I did not plan, we would have no idea (and not to mention that savings).

Has anyone been to Cozumel in the beginning of December?

You will have a great time at Paradise Beach! Say hi to Paradise Beach Tom; he runs the place and is the nicest guy! Can't do enough to make your stay a great one!

I'm so envious; I'd love to go back to Paradise Beach! Have a wonderful vacation!

We went to Mr. Sanchos beach when we were in Cozumel last July. It was a great place to spend the day, but the service is REALLY SLOW!!! It took forever to get something to eat and drink there. Maybe we caught them on a bad day. However, the food was fresh and really delicious!! The beach was beautiful. Like someone else already said, it had white sand and very calm, shallow water. You could go out really far and still have water up to your waist. There were plenty of tables w/umbrellas and beach chairs. Free admission too.

We just went to Paradise Beach during the May 8th cruise a week or so ago.

It was wonderful. It was about a 15.00 cab ride from the boat, very cheap.

The beach area was great. The bar is a neat setting with Parrots and such. As soon as we hit the sand, we had a beach waiter there getting four loungers set up, taking our order and orienting us to the beach. Paradise Beach Tom stopped by to find out how we heard of the place, of course I said the DIS Boards. He wanted to make sure everything was A OK...which it was.

They do charge a deposit of 10.00 per snorkel set, but you get it back of course if you return the gear. The Iceberg climbing slide is tough to climb, I thought, but a blast to slide down off of. I did a lot of snorkeling there....neat stuff to see if you spend time hunting for it. My girls loved it there 9 and 10...they have beach side massages and hair braiding...

It was truly a fantastic place...The water trampoline is fun also...the only thing we didn't do was Kyak, which they are free to use also...

We were there about 4 hours, which made for a great relaxing day.

I have some pics of the beach, iceberg and such if your interested message me and I will send them.

Fireguy...I would LOVE to see your pics, can you place them on this thread so everyone can see them. If not send them over.

TIA
Joanna

Hi Fireguy-

I think we're going to try Paradise Beach with our daughter (3.5). How deep is the water by the trampoline? Is it something that I could carry her to and let her play on?

Thanks for the great information!

Erin :D

I also would love to see your picture, we are planning to go there on our February cruise, I know my girls will love it...

I'll see if I can figure out how to post the pictures on here...

You could get your daughter out to the trampoline and put her up there to just let her bounce...but the water was fairly deep around the tramp and the iceberg. I believe they told me 3 meters, so about 9 feet, but your very boyant and can stay afloat with little work.

Fireguy5620: Thank you so much. I would love to see your pictures and also thank you for the recent update on Paradise Beach.

What time did you get there? I think this day will be the highlight of our cruise. I simply cannot wait!!!

Fireguy...Thanks for sharing your pics. Looks like you had a great time!
